Bicep Blast

Hi,

I'm sure James has done a post on this - basically you work your biceps almost everyday for around 4-5 weeks.

Anyone try this method as keen to increase bicep area?

I think you do barbell curls 3x8, 3 times a week for a month, or something like that.

It may work, but i doubt it will work if you have previously been hammering your biceps with lots of volume.

I beleive it was said that this will work only if your biceps are seriously lagging behind in size compared to the rest of the body.

My arms are lagging behind a little bit compared to my shoulders and chest too. So now iam just doing one full biceps day (only biceps on a tuesday) this way i get a mega burn and next day too. Your biceps get trained other days anyway by nearly all exercises you do so its best not to overtrain them. Biceps are basically involoved in all exercises.

I said something similar to this

I have seen a number of guys use this approach who have seriously lagging biceps.

What they do is train the bollocks off the 3 times per week for 4 weeks. It may mean other training suffers a little and is basically prioritising. If you do this for longer than this I think the stubbornness will start again.

After this return to once a week in the traditional (though still very hard) way

The best thing for biceps is the barbell curl with a fast raise, then tense your bicep when your arm is fully contracted and with a slow decline. pyramid this exercise with 2.5 kg extra each set do a few sets with increasing weight , then pyramid downwards again with decreasing weight by 2.5 kg each set. This exercise will give your biceps a mega burn and should stimulate growth if you eat the right foods straight after.

dont get caught up with that feel the burn nonsense mate, you're right about the exercise choice, bar curls are probably the best biceps exercise out there. Personally I'd drop the sets where you reduce the weight as they probably arent going to be anymore beneficial than the sets where you are increasing. All they'll do is hurt! and eat into your recovery.

that better DV? you are right [8)]

Just a thought but how's about showing someone the errors of their way rather than making sarcastic comments.... they get nobody anywhere.

hahahah... yeah i understand thx pikeking and what you are saying is more logical.
The only reason i say about the burn factor (and i actually like the burn) is because this makes me feel good afterwards because of the endorphins released afterwards. Most top bodybuilders for e.g: ronnie coleman always say ' feel the burn!' so you can see were iam coming from :)

have you ever seen arnold's workouts that he use to do. I dare you to try one of them and see how big you get. ronnie coleman is a genetic freak that is on juice, he didn't start out at 180 lbs. like a lot of the guys on here. i agree with pike with saying don't go by the burn. guys on juice or genetic freaks can get away with doing a lot more than everyone else and still get big.

I think hammer curls using a triceps bar (double handed) are [ersonally really good for my bicep growth.
