Hi thanks for replying. Maybe I didnt make it clear. If get DOMS I get it with in 2 days after training, after the doms have gone my biceps feel fine but for the last 4 weeks when I contract them weather to mesure my arms or just pose, right between the inner and out bicep I get a deep pain in them both arms. When I stop contacting them if feels for a min or 2 that iv done a realy hard workout on them but more of a damage sharp pain than sore that you would normaly get.

Iv felt my arms are getting used too much and generaly just doing back, deadlift all pull exercises that they feel likr they have been isolated rather than been a secondary involved muscle.

Iv taken 1 week off doing no training for 2 sessions as I missed the last arms day the week before and still getting this pain but only when contracting them? So if you tence your biceps realy hard for a few seconds and let go you feel no sorness or pain at all?

i think i had something similar a while back, when i squeezed at the top of a curl i had an unusual pain, not a pain i had experienced before. I put it down to just over doing it as i had done quite alot of work in a short space of time, i layed off direct bicep work for a week or so and came back on lighter weights (as it was even hurting using half my usual weight) and things were ok and its not come back since. Dont know if its exactly the same but it sounds similar

Yea thats sounds like it to me only I dont have to use any weights at all. Its the outer biceps at the very top.

Reason iv posted this is I wana know if anyone has had this and contunued training as I planned to go back today . I was just going to avoid doing any direct bicep work. Funny thing is though every morning I wake up feeling like ive done a full body workout the day before even all last week off.

Maybe you should rest for abit mate, you shouldnt be feeling that knackered after a week breaki dont think!. I am no overtraining expert so maybe someone else could butt in here?
Personally i do 3 days a week, sometimes 4, but i make it well split so i get good breaks and recovery time. When i had the similar problem i just laid off direct bicep work and it went away without me really noticing to be honest. I only laid off for a week, carried on my protein and eating well and it cleared.

To be honest, you're the only one that is able to tell you whether or not you should train, your body will tell you if it doesn't want to do something! Similar problems, pain nearing the end of range, can been seen in the hamstrings as well, and the way to get round that is to work the exercise upto, and just into the range where pain becomes present. If there is a pain free range, you SHOULD, that's not to say you will be, able to work the muscle with out aggrevating it. I would be tempted to try working upto the point of pain and slightly into pain, as it may be that the pain is purely caused by weakness of the muscle at inner range. If trying this approach causing more pain and discomfort, then i would find a sports therapist with a decent reputation in your local area to have a look at it. A second possibility would be biceps tendinopathy (the area you discribe would fit this), and this is likely to require inflammatory control, a period of rest, and a slow intregation back into exercise. A frustrating problem, but one that will only get worse, and continue to recur if you don't get it sorted properly first time. If you are getting pain following exercise, which eases during exercise, this is likely to be your culprit!

As for the possibility of overtraining syndrome, it's possible, but unless you are training for stupid amounts of time each and every day, and your nutrient and rest periods are poor, i would think it unlikely.

First thing I always notice it that just after first set my arms are fully pumped with forarms tight hard to streighten. I can perform more sets but the range gets so tight that I cant touch my sholders.

My biceps felt they where getting hammered when I had started training again after a 8 months break where doing my back day would totaly finish my biceps before I even started directly training them. Just typing this I have to stop as my sholders and arms just go dead, this is after a week off. Iv never trained this hard before but I have never eaten this well before either. It seems diet does very little for me and less training and more recovery time does more.

One thing to mention my sleep is extreemly poor. Iv had alot of neighbour problems and has interupted my sleep to tyhe point I dont fully sleepalmost expecting to be woken. I said to my training partner that this could well be my slow recovering. I think im loosing muscle too.

Again, looks like an over use thing to me, this is suggested by the fact you have had a lengthy lay off from training, 8 months, and then you say you've started training again the hardest you have ever trained, classic conditions for an over use injury. I would suggest that either, you stop training for a period of time, or you change your training so that you are not placing so much strain on the biceps, possibly not training the biceps directly, and just training them indirectly with trapes exercises and such like. I would still think it is a bicep tendinopathy, however without doing a full examination and assessment on you, i wouldn't be able to tell, which is why, if you can't sort this problem yourself in the near future, i would suggest seeing a private physio. I would, in the mean time, suggest that you try a google search for bicep tendinopathy, and see if you can gain any knowledge or ideas. There are one of two decent online sites which should cover the shoulder area. Just as a general note though, pain should be your guiding factor, if you get pain, whether during or following a work out, i would suggest you ice for about 10 minutes a couple of times a day, and rest from all arm exercises for at least a couple of days to allow the inflammation to subside.
