Bill Boyd's Gym

Anybody used Bill Boyd's gym in Stockton-on-Tees? If so, what's it like?

Thanks,

No, but I know where it is and it's supposed to be ok

No biggie like, there are a lot worse things for you than using steroids, I mean I probably shouldn't have been smoking crack or getting into bar fights at your age TBH  - drab4

    Alright mate,

Yea i have been down Bill's a few times before today. As far as Gyms go its pretty good. Contains the necesarry stuff like Squat Rack, Hack squat, Benches, lots of dumbells, Smithy machine, leg press, chin bar, dip station.. My only gripe would be that its fairly short on floor space so when your doing deads you have to bare in mind the lack of space.

The lady owner (linda) is polite and welcoming to all strangers and some of the lads in thier are friendly. It isnt a sissy health centre and has raw basics needed to grow.

Ill be moving back in when I outgrow my home equipt in the future.

Thanks Pagan & 3-style. TBH, I generally train at home, but my gains aren't as much as I hoped or expected, so I thought I'd try a gym for a few months, to see if it made a difference.

My girlfriend was watching me do lat pulldowns last week, and asked me what body part I was training. Stupid question, I thought, but I told her I was training my back. She then told me that my back muscles weren't moving at all, and everything seemed to be coming from my arms, which shook me a bit!

I'm now wondering if my old injuries (broken shoulder, and disc trouble) are stopping my range of movement, and so limiting my gains, so thought I'd get an informed critique. Didn't fancy Bannatynes or Springs, and remembered Bill Boyds, which I believe has been running for donkey's years, although I think the original Bill Boyd died some time ago.

Anyway, thanks for your input, and I'll give it a try.
