Birthday Gift Help Needed

Morning all, looking for some help as to what to get my brother for his birthday. Facts are as follows

He is going to be 30
He is a dwarf
He suffers depression as a result of his condition
He has lost a lot of interest in his appearance as he cannot change his fundamental issue (dwarfism)
He is a now quite overweight
He lives on his own
He has slowly become more introverted and selfish as he has aged
He is really big on his gadgets, but has all the usual stuff, PS3, Xbox, laptop, google chrome, big 3D TV etc
He is not big on travelling or I would have bought him a ticket to spend a week with us in Vienna
I buy a fair bit of his clothes for him as he won't shop for them, then between my mum and I we bully him into getting them adjusted.
For his Xmas We bought him 3 pairs of trousers and also got him a £50 voucher for Slaters so he can also choose some of his own clothes (I will probably need to fly across and take him shopping or he won't use the voucher)

We have 6 weeks until his B'day and so need to get thinking.
We don't want to give him cash as it is impersonal.
My wife and I bought him a nice watch for his 21st, it is a mess now, but he is not keen on getting another one, he just doesn't wear one anymore.

Any thoughts?

Maybe buying him some kind of experience day will help motivate him and get back out there, maybe something a friend can do with him to make sure he goes.

Not really easy to pick a gift for someone who is depressed and reclusive in general I know.

I wondered about the experience day, problem is because of his physical condition he is slightly restricted with some things, like can only drive an automatic, can't run much etc.

I will have a look and see what experiences I can find though

thanks

I don't know if you know him well enough to know his life highlights (I say that as I don't know my brothers that well), but I recently bought a print that was self-made from Not on the High Street
http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/art/personalised

The one I bought was basically split into 16 Chapters (split into 3 key years) of memories that I had with that person.

If you don't know the in's and out's that well there are other things on there too

How about this http://www.6thgearexperience.com/Ariel-Atom-Driving-Experiences Even being  a passenger would be thrilling.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body... but rather to skid in sideways, totally
worn out, shouting
Holy ****... What a ride!!"

The driving experience day would be fun even as a passenger, me personally I'd like a go in a hot air balloon though I don't like heights and probably would be nervous.

You could also look into tickets for a show, a comedian but you'd been two tickets so he can take someone or you and your Mrs fly over to go with him.

So many experience days I had a look not long ago and there were hundreds but depending on location it can be limited, not so much here in scotland

I forgot to mention that with the dwarfism comes an issue whereby all his passages in his head, ears, nose etc are very small, and he had problems with his ears for years, which is why he won't fly. Not sure dropping like a brick will go down well.

This he might actually really enjoy, as he has never had a girlfriend however...

1. My mum would disown me
2. My wife would disown me
3. It might cause him embarrassment and that is the last thing I would want to do.

I bet now you can see how tough this is.

The problem is if it were a normal birthday I would pay for one of his rooms to get a new carpet or be decorated, buy him a really nice dinner set to keep in the house, but this is his 30th and I want it to be something special.

Would your mum or wife really be that upset? We all have needs and if the women is happy to do it then what's the issue. Same as them going for a massage, just a little more intermit.

Other then hooker i can't think of anything. Maybe just make it a present that only you two know about :p

Body Weight - 83kg
Bench - 145kg
Squat - 190kg
Clean & Jerk - 129kg
Snatch - 98kg

Just tell them it's a massage. All above board. What happens behind closed doors is nobodies business but theirs.
