Malware protection test  https://www.av-comparatives.org/tests/malware-protection-test-september-2018/

Performance impact test  (Ouch Microsoft!):  https://www.av-comparatives.org/tests/performance-test-october-2018

Kaspersky is usually  near the upper  end so I was surprised (and so were they lol) - they issued a bug fix

Hmmm yes the number are the same for most and they say AVG is one of the best, lmao.
Even worse when tested on a Lenovo machine.

Well fairly close but some clearly better than the rest.

I still maintain its best to use two different apps as each are better at tackling particular threats than others.
I run the Microsoft app overnight so the speed reduction isn`t an issue for me and its free.

Only about 24hrs in to having opened it but it certainly seems to have been a successful purchase. Thanks for the recommendation

2 reasons really, 1) I'd already gone up by £50 on my budget and 2) his birthday was last sunday so it's already done
