Bizarre grip session

So there I was today, after my full back session, doing my thick bar DL work for grip.

First 2 sets for 3 reps were a breeze, pure simplicity (dunno why I'm getting stronger while getting leaner but I won't complain)..... but then, 3rd and last set, could get it off the floor , paused to re-chalk and tried again - barely reached shin level before dropping it ARSE!!!. Then after chatting to my mate and venting some steam over it, waltzed over (not literally coz that would look silly), and Bing, Bang, Bosh, 3 reps like the weight wasn't even on the bar

What was all that about???

But I had rested anyway prior to that and the pause was only long enough to mention a few expleatives and then go back over and try. I don't doubt that it helped, but I went from barely moving it, to banging out 3 piece of piss reps within a minute

I find it's like that with the Rolling Thunder. You work up to your 1RM, which feels easy, you add a kilo and it's like it is stuck to the floor. Very wierd. No idea of the science behind it though.

Someone might have borrowed some plates of your bar whilst you was busy making idle chit chat!
