Black Holes

With all this talk of the universe and our solar system, I thought it only right to start a thread for whats got to be the scariest thing ever bar none, Black Holes

These, along with deep sea whirlpools (shudders!) freak me out something rotten. I mean theres literally not a damn thing you can do about them!

Black hole documentary part 1

Black hole documentary part 2

Great movies, recommend watching them

Hello.

    Well earth actually gets hit by asteroids all the time although they're mostly too small to cause considerable damage. A lot burn up upon entering the earths atmosphere. It's inevitable that one day earth will be hit by another big asteroid whether thats in 1 year or 100,000,000 years is anybodys guess!!

    Yea those are good clips, thanks for sharing. But erm, wtf is inside these blackholes then? Surely it has to be something, everything sucked in has to go somewhere or turn into something?

    Argh confused...

    I'm more concerned about pot holes in my local high street. Maybe we should tackle them before we go to space and mess with black holes.

    When a star implodes, the sheer mass that it was cannot be replaced and therefore a 'black hole' arises. This is a gap in time which absorbs everything near it and well, destroys it. So we are lead to believe by scientists. Apparently there's a layer in which you do not break into nothing, but no matter how much your put into thrusting out of it, you cannot. You will end up being destroyed like everything else in it.

    I think there may be a theory on black holes being the reversal of time. Not entirely sure on that one, but if it is, then the apparent big bang will happen again and we will re-live our lives. IMO.

    Scary thing is )and its all based on theory), that for every Black Hole their has to be a white hole, or somthing in the Universe to balence it out!

    r < 2GM / c2 , where

    G = 6.67 × 10–11 N m2 kg–2 (gravitational constant)

    c = 2.998 × 108 m s–1 (speed of light)

    WTF does this mean? We have 3 years to live or what?

    Lol, naw all seriousness, really interesting. But I've made myself tired now.

    There is nothing in a black hole. There is a possibility that we will go to a different dimension. No one really knows for sure what happens in a blackhole. No one has been in one.

    What if a black hole and a white hole collide? If a white hole speeds up time and a black hole reverses/destroys time then if they collide, woudn't this neutralise both of the effects but maybe 'cause a smaller big bang?

    what about this

    Gc = 395.67 x 394 m-1s-f = (.)(.)

    that could mean that black holes lead to another dimension with other planets and possibly a planet with only hot chicks

    Probably the most simple and amusing thing I've read on MT (the boobs bit). I have tears, in my eyes.
