Thats very odd, thought only marathon runners got blisters!

What kind of cardio have you been doing? Do you have correct-fitting footwear/suitable trainers?

Good socks are your friend here, try decent running socks with high wool content to prevent blisters.

Know how you feel Locust, am having the same issues now I'm doing pre-season!

Some people believe in lancing them but I like to leave them well alone, what I do instead is smother the blisters in vaseline before putting my sock on, then put vaseline on the sock where the blisters are before putting on my trainer. Maybe wear two pairs of socks and repeat the process as I find this cuts down on the friction.

Compeed blister plasters work really well- nearly always get blisters during pre season due to combination of hard ground new boots etc. Compeed cream seems to help heal up the blisters....

A physio friend also suggested dabbing the blister with surgical spirit to harden the exposed skin- tried this once and it did work but the stinging had me howling fairly well
