Generally blood tests include a common-average range of low to high on the print outs (on the right hand side of where the numbers tested in your blood are shown) that are given after the test has been administered. If the doc sees no levels out of the ordinary I wouldn't really concern myself. Usually the labs will flag any values out of the norms, being to high or too low. You can do this will simple mathematics analysis with the numbers given. That's usually what that doctor, making way more than you and I, is doing when he reviews your blood test.

    Cheers mate

Not really that simple. Things aint working to well after pct. I heard that even if your test levels are on the low sides some docs still ok it. So wanted see what a good range to be at is. Also i dont really trust my doc.

'Normal' serum testoserone levels in healthy men is between 8-26 ng/dl. You must remember that that is between the ages of 18-65 though so a doctor will say you are in the normal range if yours is showing at 8. However if you are in your 20-30's you want to be saying that it migh be in the normal range but for someone of your age it should be way higher.

@ BMC - I think the docs will tell us anything. I know mine didn't fill with me with confidence.
OP it would seem that your levels are in the normal range according to the docs but i would say it is low for someone of your age, which is the point you will need to argue with your doc.

I dont want use test to help boost them. Ive been on 2 years or so so i knew things would be bad. Ive done pct and good one at that. Im thinking of maybe doing another sort of one to see if this work??? Bmc or will did you try this or did you think this wouldnt work???

Sorry to be blunt/rude but is there other things apart from your test levels that effect your old boy from working?? If these levels are ok must be another reason why things dont or work very good i should say.

Could be a prostate issue. AAS use has been linked to prostate enlargement. Do you have any difficulties taking a piss?

I took a pro hormone awhile back that more or less shut down that department. It sucked, but eventually came back after a month or two.

Even if your doc thinks you're test levels are relatively low, he would probably prescribe you test, in cream form and comparatively lower doses of course.

No dont have any problems using the toilet. Will my test levels increse on there own??? Thinking because its only been 2 months and i was on so long thats why they are low. And possibly as weeks go on it will increase. Or there there possibility that ive done damage to my test and it wont increase naturaly??

I would say that if you have been on for 2 years then your naty test production will be very low / shut down completely. PCT helps to kick start your naty test production back into action but it isn't a case of as soon as you've finished PCT then HPTA axis (the bodies test production mechanism) is all working fine again. I would give it a couple of months and if you still think it's a problem then do PCT again.

My levels were 3.9. And I just had bloods done in December and they were 41 and the doc was happy with that as it's just slightly over normal

For me erections was about the only thing that was working but I had no sex drive so I just used it to pish over high walls lol

    Interesting comments chappies....
I plucked up the courage to ask the doctor for a blood test,  haven’t been ill for oohhh how long  -  cannot remember really.  Mentioned that I was feeling down, depressed and lack of sex drive etc.... so they did a full blood test.  Will not go into all the figures as most of them mean nothing to me,  I just basically looked at the main ones and ones I was interested in -  Test/liver/cholesterol levels and the results were Normal -well that’s what they said.

Being an old git  as I am 49......  my test was 9.7 nmol/L and serum cholesterol/HDL ratio was 3.7.   Only thing I noticed from the printout were two test figures, these were slightly out the normal range.  The "Serum total bilirubin level = 22umol/L & the "Lymphocyte count = 1.4"  (the normal range for these are between 5-20 & 1.5 - 4 respectively).

I suppose I was hoping that I would be put onto trt but never happened,  did not push this anymore with the doctors,  maybe will a bit later on but again not sure what they would class as been REALLY low test levels to warrant  a trt course ??

It looks like a lot of chaps at my age or around that age either self prescribe trt themselves or somehow manage to the doctors to put them on a trt course.
Just for info, I ended my last PCT 12/12/10 and cycle was TNT450.

    Just an open question:
Any reason why you did self prescribe or was it the case that the doctors will not ??

How do you know normal ranges?? Is there place on the net you can check?? Id like to check the rest of my result.

Im exactly the same. I can now get an erection but have no sex drive. If i did go down the hrt route does this make you infertile???  I have no kids and would like to try in near future. If hrt makes you infertile i guess this is not an option for me.

    Hello Matey,

For the range-side of things,  then these was on the printout the doctors gave me  - how up to date these are I don't really know mate.

For whereabouts on the net you can find a guide, well anyone's guess really but I did find the following link/post from <francesco totti>: http://www.ugm.org.uk/topic/14220-blood-tests/page__st__15

Also found this on MT by <Luccabertone>:

    Hope this help's you..

BMC - Are you on presribed TRT? If so what do you get prescribed ie cream, injection, etc?

I have had bloods done at the docs as i have a bit of gyno and got referred to an endocrinology doctor who has booked me in for more detailed blood work which i am having tomoorow as he said the gyno is caused by hormone inbalance. My level of test was 7.6 when i was first tested and i am 29. He said he wanted to check for cortisol, i don't know why. Anyway if these tests confirm low test again he said he will look at putting me on a small dose of TRT test which he says will get rid of the gyno. I will then look at my options as to self administor or not and blast and cruise or stay on the prescription but try to keep myself at the high end of the scale depending uopn if the gyno goes. I should add gyno surgery is an option too.
