Bodybuilding diets = the squits?

Ever since I started building seriously and started on whey powder, egg whites in the morning and loads of tuna, I've been getting the squits. I found that the eggs always made my stomach feel unsettled, so I stopped them and extra whey instead, but the squits started up soon after.

This has been going on for months and I'm really starting to worry... I may actually not be as big as I could because of the nutrients that have rushed through my system and into the toilet bowl! Plus, it's not nice to have the squits.

My wife thinks it's down to the whey, and I'm worried that if it is, I'm screwed because of how useful it is PWO and first thing in the morning. Has anyone ever had this problem, did they ever resolve it, and does anyone know what the actual cause could be?

I had the same problem when I first started training and was using an egg albumium powder. Was basically ingesting too much powder nutrition and not enough real food

What do you think I should do? I have 3-4 scoops of whey a day, the rest is real food.

Dont know really bud, personally I would cut out the whey for a week to see if thats the problem or not. Eat another protein source to make up for it

Completely the opposite for me. I used to be as regular as clockwork, but since I upped the protein I find I'm constipated more often than not.

I used to get this problem but it stopped after a couple of weeks. I eat loads of whey, eggs, milk etc' with no problems at all now. Well most of the time anyway. Good luck M8.

Well, I have wondered if it's the brand of whey, however this could be an issue as I have £60 worth of this brand whey in my cupboard!

When i started on Progain and high protein meals i found i went the opposite way, so i had to up the fruit and fibre intake, which seems to have fixed my problem. Maybe you should get a check with the doc as it maybe irritable bowl syn, i got this because of the amount of food i was eating, a week on a fruit and water diet sorted me out and im back to normal now.

    Cheers

you are obviously eating something that does not agree with you. Try omitting 1 type of food for a week to find out what is the cause. Start with the most obvious first, ie the ones you may suspect.

I had a similar problem when I started eating more, turned I had developed a lactose intolerence at the same time. So I'd put milk on the suspect list.

Thanks guys - I'm not big on consuming milk so I can't it as being lactose intolerant, an as for fruit and veg, I've always been big on those, and I've had to cut DOWN because I'm afraid that they'll agrivate the situation.

I suppose you're right, I'll have to cut out select things, though this is awfully frustrating as it upsets my routine and I'll have to eat MORE tuna (I find chickens too cumbersome to pick apart and breasts on their own are too expensive for me) - I have 5-6 cans of the stuff a day as it is, and I don't fancy it first thing, but having trouble with eggs and trying without whey, what else can I do?
