Having been to Bratislava many times and knowing many Slovak people I can safely say, the comments about it being a sh1tpile are way off the mark.
As for 100's of areas war torn 11 years ago - bit surprising given the last military action the city saw was well over 50 years ago. Also the old town was not affected during the 2nd world war.
Eurotrip was not well received in Bratislava/Slovakia and for the record was filmed almost if not entirely in Prague using cgi to make prague look like London, Paris etc.
Bratislava or Pressburg played a key role in the Hapsburg empire - pretty big empire for a while.
Lastly Slovakia has a very good economy and are joining the euro next year. Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland do not currently have a target date for adoption of the euro.
Dislike getting serious in the thread but as I said I like the city and dislike misinformation. I could go on but I'd bore even myself!
