Breakfast Carbs

Hey guys

My breakfast consists of currently:

60g oats
100ml skim milk
200g egg white liquid + 30g egg white powder
1.5 apples + 1.5 peaches

Cals: 571.5
Pro: 59
Carb: 80.3
Fat: 4.9

My question is that, i shouldn't be worrying about having lots of carbs from fruit should i? As i need quite a few in order to make my shake taste nice - the majority of times i just use apples and not peaches anyway, but anything which is frozen over night.

Are the totals above looking good for someone who is on a strict cut?

1,300 cals? How the f**k do you manage that!? Are you not worried about muscle loss?

I'm EXTREMELY worried about muscle loss (despite the fact that my gym performance is not decreasing and dare i say increasing!).

But, tbh i dont think i could even go over 1600 anyway - Due to the fact im eating extremely clean, carbs are low and i dont feel very hugry. Maximum i would cheat would be half bottle lucozade or some bread if i get too dizzy and icecream on sundays.

Could you suggest anything to prevent the muscle loss? I am going to be weighing in on the 1st of August and if i get to my target (85kg , was 89kg start of the month) i will be using BCAA's.

    current Med = ECA

    Cheers!

Well my training consits of roughly 45min weights then either 35mins cardio or 1hour cardio if im not training with a partner.

I work mainly weekends as a lifeguard  @ a pool and events work so its not extremely physical.

My diet is quite high in protein and slightly lower carb on a whole day - majority of my carbs come from fruit and veg (i eat a lot of it) hence why there isnt massive amounts.

You're looking to lose 4kgs in 4 weeks - definately feasible without going to such extreme lengths.

    - work out maintainance calories (let's say this is 2,700 for example)
    - Eat 2,000 calories a day, thereby creating a 700 calories deficit
    - Involve yourself in extra activity / cardio to expend a further 300 calories
    - 1,000 calorie deficit achieved = 2lb weight loss per week
    - Keep lifting to maintain muscle, eat high protein, good carbs, good fats.

"Yes, chocolate flavoured steroids. I also have some strawberry flavoured crystal meth if you're interested?"

4kg in 4 weeks = some muscle loss.

1300kcal is far too low (unless you're absolutely tiny)!

If you're getting dizzy as stated, then you're not managing it well enough!

Im not really tiny tbh - no where near as big as the guys on here but slightly bigger than the average joe as far as 18 yolds go.

    Maintainance calories = 10xbodyweiht(lb)?

Im finding i cant eat too much now anyway even if i wanted...The only way to avoid muscle loss is eating more i supose isnt it.

    Thanks

    1300 kcals?

    Youll end up skinny fat.

Feed the muscle, burn the fat. Not the other way round. You are doing things arse backwadrs, looking into various PED's etc. What do you find so hard to just eat to fuel your training, do your cardio and get on with it? This is not rocket science yet you seek to complicate things with these extreme protocols and drug use when there is no need.

Youre dizzy etc because youre getting low blood sugar, good way again of losing tissue as you have no carbs i your system to fuel recovery or fuel training intensity.

I do more than enough cardio mate and i'm mostly fueld for it.

I get dizzy because looking at a rower display for 8k is not the most entertaing way of doing cardio.

Extreme protocols?! What extreme protocols? ECA isnt complicating anything - I have bettered my CV in every aspect since i have used ECA - times/distances/endurance etc

I said in the posts a while ago that i dont FEEL hungry despite the low cals (if i ever do i replenish with a big meal) - i am therfore going to force feed myself?!

I would just monitor yourself carefully

1300 cals a day plus 5 weight sessions and cardio per week in my opinion isnt going to end well.
    How much do you weigh?

I am on a similar routine to you, on a cut, but knocking back 3,100 cals at the moment and the weight is coming off slowly and i feel good, strength still steadily increasing, measurements the same but the belt buckle has moved down a notch.

However I once did a cut at 2,400 cals and i lost weight faster but some muscle at the same time, it was obvious as well so i knocked it on the head.

I cannot imagine what would have happened at 1300 cals, so just keep a close eye on your progress, strength and mood as you go. How long have you been at 1300 cals because i think it will catch up with you eventually...not flaming just a friendly word of warning

Yea i really appreciate advice more than un-constructive crtique mate

I was @ 98KG 3 months ago - weighed in @ 89KG start of this month and i need to be at 85KG at the end of the month - I dont think i will hit 85k but i  assume this is due to muscle because my squats have increasing immensly and my strength on the bench is better even though the weight is relatively light.

I fit into most of my clothes comfortably as well now and have dropped from 36inch waist to 34 - So im happy

I have stopped counting my calories aswell now as i feel i was focusing on it too much - Im just eating high pro/carb and low fat at the mo. Guesstimate of cals would be in the region of 1200-1600

    Cheers!

Are you sure you aren't underestimating calories a bit?  1300 just sounds so low for such an active lifestyle.  Especially if you are eating half your daily total for your breakfast.

Personally, although myself, I could never survive on such a low total, I'd recommend eating a bit more to be honest.

It might be a good idea to count your cals, see what you are consuming. I am in no way by a long distance an expert but things dont seem to add up.

The thing that stands out is that if you are at 1300 cals you are probably well over a 500 calorie defecit if you spent all day sat on the sofa, toss in the weights and cardio and you have a serious calorie defecit there everyday.

If you were 98kg 3 months ago, 89kg at the start of the month then you can say a 9kg loss over 8 weeks which is about 2.5lbs a week which is kind of regarded as healthy fat loss so kudos for that.

But, i would have expected with your suggested daily cals of 1300 and training routine, a much higher figure of weight loss would have come.
Again not flaming, i guess you have just confused me abit (which aint actually hard)

I guess i am saying are you consuming alot more cals than you think you are?

i am circa 20k's lighter than you but 1300 cals would crucify me. i eat more than that.

I agree with the other posters 1300 cals is extreme.

why dont you post up your whole diet?
why do you have to lose 4 kg in four weeks?

ps what do you do with the other half apple and half peach ??? thats bizarre ....
