Short changeover today but despite being a little groggy a half decent session was had.

Day 5: (Arms/Shld/Calves) Fri 04/01/19 1540-1715hrs
Cut Day #54

Pressdowns 5x10: (straight bar) 50lbs x5, 70lbs x5, 80lbs x10, x10, x10, x9, x9, Drop set: 70lbs x5 (+1 70lbs)
SLRs 5x10: 16kg x10, x10, 15kg x10, x10, x10 (+1kg second set)
BB Curls 5x10: 35kg x10, x10, 30kg x10, x10, x10 (+5kg second set)
Lying DB Triceps Ext 5x10: 15kg x10, x10, x10, 12.5kg x10, x10 (+2.5kg third set)
Reverse Flyes 5x10: (L4) 55kg x10, x10, 50kg x11, x11, x11 (+2 50kg)
Concentration Curls 5x10: 17.5kg x10, x10, 15kg x10, x10, x10 (-)
Seated Calf Raises 5x10: 50kg x10, 47.5kg x10, 45kg x10, x10, x10 (+2.5kg second set)

Pressdowns made an effort to make stricter, pausing at the top. I think there is a very tiny bit of cheating where I use body weight to reverse direction. As a result lost a rep set four but clawed it back set five, with +1 on the drop set. SLRs added a kilo second set matching all reps. BB curls bumped up the second set acutely aware I was pushing hard for this, and even more so to match all reps.

Lying tris bumped the third set. Wasn’t looking like I was going to make all reps that set but powered through. Feeling knackered at this point. Reverse Flyes not sure I had a third set at 55kg so aimed to add a rep to each of the latter sets. Con curls 17s felt very heavy and not confident about doing them for a third set. Just as well as I fought hard to match reps. Not too worried volume was up on BB curls. Calf raises second set bumped up a touch.

TTT - 1:35hrs

Not huge increases but all in the right direction. Going to have a few early nights this week to catch up. Busy days off ahead too.

Cheers!

Cheers. My form tends to be very strict anyway, but now and again I become aware that I’m using a little stretch reflex or body weight on some movements.

Always good to check yourself before you wreck yourself. Once you start to see progression stalling unless form compromise helps then time to switch it all up I find.

All the basketball vests make sense now. Ali G in da house!

I think as we up the weights it's natural for the body to try and compensate for the change by cheating. You don't even realise it's happening because subconsciously your body want to move something from A to B as easy as possible. It's great to have the ability to self critique because plenty of people can't and their form gets worse and worse.

Form is everything I keep mine strict as fcuk especially with all my injuries ready to surface its wise to keep things tight.I have always gained better by concentrating more on form than weight.

Yes mate I agree. Helps sometimes to go in with a 'fresh form' attitude. Just another stimulus as well.

Cheers mate. Still losing weight. Not as much as I planned but still dropping. Seem to be increasing on exercises too so in that regard going quite well I think.

Thanks bud. DOMS are typical the next day of late. Barely noticeable unless flexing for them. Or training the following day LOL.

Was due to train yesterday but after a long day painting the front room I was too knackered. I later discovered after the boys had gone to bed that one of them was so interested in the finer details of modern painted surfaces, that he had picked a soccer ball sized chunk of paint off the wall at eye level in the toilet.

I will admit I had a tanty.

Day 8: (Back/Chest) Mon 07/01/19 1205-1330hrs
Cut Day #57

Pullups: (5 sets) -50kg x5, -25kg x5, BW +2.5kg x10, x7, x6, x5, x5 = 33 (+2)
-lying rows first-
CGBP 4x8: 20kg x5, 40kg x5, 60kg x3, 80kg x2, 100kg x1, 110kg x1, 120kg x3, x3, 90kg x8, x8, x8, x6 (+1 90kg)
BB Incline Lying Row 4x8: (L5) 60kg x5, 80kg x3, 100kg x2, 112.5kg x4, 95kg x8, x8, x8, x8 +3 (-1 112.5kg, +3 95kg)
Incline DB Bench 4x10: (L4) 32.5kg x10, x10, 30kg x10, x10 (+2.5kg second set)
Standing Cable Low Rows: 4x10 130lbs x10, x10, x10, x10 (+10lbs)
Pec Dec 4x10: (L6 S3) 55kg x10, x10, 50kg x10, x10 (+5kg second set)

Pullups started with a bang getting my all time best 10 in a row. +2 for the series as well. Bench was being used so straight on to lying rows. Added 2.5kg to the heavy set losing a rep in the process. Also added 2.5kg to work sets. Was still going to be a volume drop here so tacked on a rest pause set at the end.

CGBP feeling pretty strong. Managed to turn the 3x2 into 2x3 on the 120kg. Only gained one grinding rep on working set though but I’ll take it. Incline bench not expecting great things having just done bench before, but did manage to bump up second set and maintain all reps. Low rows again managed 10lbs increase across the board. I can tell my traps are getting something out of this as well as upper back so worth me keeping I think. New muscles also explain the quick progress Ive made on these ie. acclimatisation. Pec dec bumped up second set and that was that.

TTT - 1:25hrs

Cheers!

Not sure how today was going to go having just done pressing yesterday. Turned out alright.

Day 1: (Tri/Shld) Tue 08/01/19 1020-1110hrs
Cut Day #58

Pressdowns 5x10: (straight bar) #11 x5, #14 x5, #16 x10, x10, x9, x9, x8 (?)
SLRs 5x10: 16kg x10, x10, 15kg x10, x10, x12 (+1kg second set)
Lying DB Triceps Ext 5x10: 15kg x10, x10, x10, 12.5kg x10, x10 (+2.5kg third set)
Single Arm Cable Reverse Flyes 5x10: (L5) #3 x10, x10, #2 x10, x10, x10 (+#1 second set)

Pressdowns dropped the #17 and #15 plate sets aiming for straight #16s. Few reps gained and a few lost. No idea if volume is up or not on last week, but is certainly a touch down from a few weeks ago. Hopefully progress will be clearer from this point now.

SLRs burning from first set. Did add 1kg to second set and managed to maintain reps so happy here. Lying tri ext added a touch of weight to set three before pounding the remainder out. Reverse Flyes bumped up second set pushing very hard for last reps. Perhaps a little premature here adding weight really grinding out last sets.

TTT - 50 mins

No weigh in this morning as we had pizza last night which was full of salt. All under cals of course. Check in tomorrow.

Cheers!

No weigh in day! You've completely ruined my day.
It's a double edged sword, pizza may ruin this weeks weigh in but it sets you up nicely for next week.
It all averages out in the end.
