Just three sessions left before my week off. Let’s make it count.

Day 1: (Tri/Shld) Thu 24/01/19 1005-1055hrs
Cut Day #74

Pressdowns 5x10: (straight bar) #11 x5, #14 x5, #16 x10, x10, x10, x9, x6, x6 (+3)
SLRs 5x10: 16kg x10, x10, x10, 15kg x12, x12 (+2 15kg)
Lying DB Triceps Ext 5x10: 15kg x10, x10, x10, 12.5kg x12, x11 (+1 12.5kg)
Single Arm Cable Reverse Flyes 5x10: (L5) #3 x10, x10, #2 x12, x11, x10 (+3)

Pressdowns working hard to chalk up +2 reps. Lost both of them instantly on set five. Smashed the final sixth set hard and got +3. SLRs pushing hard on set three, and knew there was no way I had another at 16kg so dropped back to 15 looking for reps. Managed +2 fourth set, nothing new on the final. Lying tris only just made ten on the third set so again looking for extra reps on the 12s. Only managed one barely convincing new rep. Reverse cables working up some painful reppage on the lighter work sets.

TTT - 50 mins

Short as it was still felt draining. Every session now feels like I am pushing uphill. Only two left now and then some much needed deloading.

Cheers!

I will mate! Tomorrow is the bis/calves/token legs, but the last will be one of those huge back/chest ones.

Next weigh in tomorrow to assess the damage from all that curry and Nairn bread!

Cheers bud. TBH I've not had the same forearm issues since going CGBP. Might try it again someday. Fact is I think I will always be a little inefficient at them as I can't really use leg drive or have an arch. Forearms though was the catalyst for me.

Busiest day in recent memory. Made worse by everyone keep interrupting me constantly to see if I needed help lol. I know they mean well but FFS ask once and then let me get on with it!

Day 2: (Bis/Calves) Fri 25/01/19 1015-1105hrs
Cut Day #75

Cable Curls 5x10: #5 x5, #8 x5, #10 x10, x10, x10, x10, #9 x10 (+#1 fourth set)
Single Leg Calf Raises 5x10: BW x11, x11, x11, x11, x10 (+2)
One Arm Lateral Cable Curls 5x10: (L3) #4 x10, x10, x10, x10, x10 (+#1 last two sets)
Zercher Squats: 30kg x20, x20, x20 (+6kg)
Hip Thrusters: 60kg x10, x10, x10 (+10kg)

Cable curls added a plate to the fourth set. Glad by the end of it that I didn’t try it for the fifth as well. Calf raises churned out a sturdy +2. Cable curls also doing well, pushing hard to add a plate to the last two sets. Decided to have another go at zerchers today and opted for a wee +6kg up from the kettlebells I was doing. Seemed to go okay. Knees very loud but sciatica was behaved. Hip thrusters added 10kg on last week. I think the trick with these and the squats is for me not to go too low. If it means stopping just shy of parallel then so be it. From a bbing perspective it will still do the job and I’m not winning any comps anyway lol.

TTT - 50mins

Weigh in this morning at 102.5kg (-0.6kg) with a 102cm (-2.5cm) waist. Was a little concerned after the two days of Indian, which probably ensured I didn’t make a 1kg loss TBH, but very happy with the waist reduction. Probably more to do with better setting of the tape this week than any huge loss but I’ll take it.

One more to go.

Cheers!

Trying to get through your journal but there is a lot to get through! especially after you pointed out the height similarities between us.

I would say that we have similar starting shapes so I am interested to get through your journal to see how you and your routines progressed.
Have you always had a good bench as I struggle like hell to lift heavy which is meant to be due to arm length?

Have to work with what your body allows, mate. I've noticed on my sciatica triggering days it's usually the 4th or 5th set that does me, rarely get it on the first 3

Good result on the weight loss and waist measurement. Fearing the worst after the Indian! Two days on it probably increased your bowel action somewhat....

I found yoga helps with my sciatica. Used to go to an osteopath, which cost a fortune to be sent away after being told I am too stiff and here are some stretches to do that will help.
Simple yoga routine works for me and I find it far easier to do and get into than just doing stretches, weirdly.
