That bag of whey should count towards your training as loaded carries everytime you move it.

That diet spreadsheet just turned me on a little bit, I love spreadsheets. There something about the neatness of them that just makes me happy inside.

Cheers fellas!

Homer- you would love my new budget spreadsheet I made the other week then. Plots charts for current expences vs. what you predicted for this time this year, works out compound interest, and predicts how much you have in savings at the end of the year (if any lol.)

I buy this stuff in bulk at $299 (169 pounds) per 20kg bag. This works out that a 50g whey shake is around 74 cents (or 42 pence.) To get the equivalent amount of protein from beef would cost me $2.31 (working beef as $14 per kg) or chicken if you like would cost me $1.80 ($9 per kg.) So yeah much cheaper.

Nice get my 2 proteins in 20kg bags from myprotein. No fancy brown packaging for mine though. Have a protein cupboard in my kitchen now with various proteins and creatine etc Been sitting on a bag of pre-workout for last 2 years untouched. Saving that for when lack of sleep fatigue really catched up to me - if the stuff still works!

Interesting. So My Protein do 20kg bags of whey in the uk?
Do you need to contact them about 20kg bags - the max weight I can see on the dropdown is 5kg.

Wouldn't mind getting one of those in.

Real pain tends to result in more tension in response. Discomfort I can go with but genuine pain probably is not what you want

Just re-read your post and realised you are talking about the foam rolling not the sciatica LOL

Great log and fantastic to see your progress.

I'm looking into the DC training method right now.

One question re the squats. I understand that these aren't done rest pause. One set is done at 6-10 reps then a widowmaker of 20 reps.

Yes, really going to commit to DC training. Really looking forward to it. High protein intake!

One thing I'm not clear on - say you do D'bell bench 10-5-2 and then you go again next time 12-6-2.

Do you up the weight next time or just keep upping the reps?

What are the parameters for upping the weight. Say beat your last reps by 2 or more reps, so add another 2.5kg?

Cheers

What weight is the widow maker? Is this the same weight of the first set or a % of the weight used on the first set?

Many thanks

Hey buddy thanks for dropping in!

I enjoy DC and have done it before, although this time round I'm not following it to the letter. I have dropped the rotation of exercises and am avoiding squats and now leg press due to issues.

You are spot on with the squats. Last time I did them I was doing around 140 for 6 odd reps. Then you get to rest a while. Then I did (I think my best was) 115kg x20. You will have to knock off a fair chunk of weight for the 20 repper. The first set is not a warmup set. You warmup before and the first set should be heavy as you can go with good form. Stop when your form breaks down but go as hard as you can. You might take up to 4-5 mins to catch your breath/get ready for the widowmaker. If you are doing the WM right then you will see all kinds of new and pretty colours towards the end. The idea is to utterly and completely empty your tank. You should not be able to walk immediately after. Or breathe for that matter lol.

Feel free to pop in anytime mate if you have any other questions. It is a great style of training.

No idea what happened there.

Typed a question and seemed to have lost it all...

Anyway - really going to commit to DC training and become obsessed with the log book.

One thing I need to clarify is when do you increase the weights?

Say I'm on the 36kg dumbbells for bench - I get 10-5-2 RP.

Next time I do dumbbell bench I get 12-6-2.

Do I then go to the 38kg dumbbells at the next dumbbell session?

What are the rules for increasing the weight? Beat your last reps by 2 or more?

Cheers

Hit top end total volume target. So if total rep goal is 20 reps don't increase until your 3 accumulative sets totals 20 reps

Yup DV is spot on. Once you reach 20 for your RP sets them bump up. Sometimes I'll move up if I'm getting 19. Some of the isolation stuff like curls I'll try to get a few more reps than 20. Personal preference really though there are no solid rules. The aim is to progress every time be it one extra rep, extra weight, etc.
