I love my cable pulley machine best thing I have bought I have always believed a mix of free weights and machines is the way to go.As I have got older I have found I use the machine more and more and tbh getting damn good results of it and less sodding injuries

Afternoon mate, just catching up as been out for a while. Are you still cutting? When is this blast starting? Are you looking to change routines up then mate? Wat did you have for breakfast? What colour car do you drive? Does the water flush a different way around in your sink compared to mine lolol ;)

Very true. I note Tuffy is doing four sessions a week which matches mine, however he has a lot more exercises but only does a few sets for each. Ox is doing five sessions a week and typically mammoth ones at that. Yours is also five a week with a manageable number of exercises, but the sheer number of sets in the latter weeks is a problem for me.

I have accounted for the time increase over the weeks (hopefully first week I could do it in 40 mins) but I'm going to have to be more time efficient with gaining volume using rest pause sets and muscle rounds. Super sets are also in the arsenal but not ideal when training the same body group ie. pull.

You can’t base figures on what other do. They are hardened gym rats and have built up tolerance over decades.

What matters is knowing what your own personal Maximam Recoverable volume is. Then work back from their when planning the block. You also need to ensure you factor a hard overreach period. This is where the majority of your gains will come from. A short intense unsustainable period which almost breaks you.. almost and then proper down time.

If some one said to you they’ll give you a million dollars if you can add 3inches to your bicep in a month, most people would be hammering arms everyday of that month as much as possible.

but the clever people (and now millionaires  ) would Hammer the arms for 25 days and then let them recover and grow in that final week

Agreed. Plans need to be tailored to the individual... which is why I had a close look at the bber folk on this board and took parts from each regime. At least I have some idea of where I need to be. Just need to get there now. Their load will obviously be a lot higher than mine and exercise selection will differ, but I can match frequency at least and go from there.

Starting to agree with you mate. I do prefer lever machines but there is a distinct lack of them in my work gym and the other gym is limited in back machines. Cables will be making more of an appearance for sure.

Lol! You made me squirt coffee through my nose! Hi mate yeah no sweat I know you're flat out... almost as busy as me lol. Cut finished officially, just sitting at maintenance having finished PCT. Just changed routine a bit this week after a short deload. Will be sitting here or doing a very light cut over the next three months before kicking on with the good stuff in June.

Oh and oats, white and no I think that is a myth lol.

So I took the few sessions off to deload and do the roof and needed every second of it. Managed to replace the skylight by cutting up the shaft to fit the smaller one, replace all the flashing on the air con, derust, re-seal and paint the lot. B1tch of a job, rusted to fvck and I had to pull all the ridge capping off the roof to do it properly. Did Animals trick and fell over on the roof and busted a few tiles which I then had to cut new ones. All in all took me two days in the heat and on well worn kneecaps, and I still rushed the cement job as the sun was going down and I had to make it to the hospital to see the missus sick grandma, just to be told it is too late and we never went! Cherry on the cake was I got back to work today to find they have disabled all gifs on the computers now. No more clever gifs on my updates folks. End of an era.

I still have memes though. They can't have my memes!

PULL: Wed 13/03/19

Chinups (MR): 12P x5, 7P x5, BW x4, x4, x4, x4, x3, x3
BB Incline Lying O/H Wide Row: (L3) 50kg x5, 70kg x10, x9
Lat Pulldowns: 10P x12, x10
Cable Row: 10P x10, x10
Drag Curls: 30kg x9, 20kg x9

First day of the new plan today. All about maximum control and a slow 5 second negative. Chins have been changed to a muscle round. Much better for time. The plan is once I can do all sets I will start adding 1kg per week. Remember it’s ten seconds rest between these and the slow negative. Rows debated about skipping the warmup set. Left it in today. Fair bit of weight removed but again all reps had a long negative and full control. Lat pulldowns have made a return... see how the sciatica goes with this. Cable rows also a new addition and despite lack of chest support back was okay with this weight. Never done drag curls before. First set was sh1t -a check online showed you’re supposed to go right up so dropped the weight and did them correctly. And that was it -all done in 40 mins. Short sesh but felt the work, and very happy that back is getting hit from more angles so what the rows don’t do the others will.

Cheers!

If he'd done an Animal he'd have fallen off the roof, not hurt himself in any way while doing so, then got up, tripped over one of the broken tile bits on the floor and torn his ACL clean apart in both knees

It was a sh1t job mate, but I put lots of time into it and spent the extra cash to get lead sheeting -not the sh1t aluminium flashing so hopefully wont have to do it again. Plan is to move in 10 years it can be someone else's problem lol.

Didn't have a chance to post this at work today so doing it from home. That means perhaps just one more gif lol.

PUSH: Thu 14/03/19 1015-1055hrs

CGBP: 40kg x5, 60kg x5, 80kg x3, 85kg x7, x6
DB Shoulder Press: 20kg x9, x8
Tricep Dips: 3kg x8, x7
Cable Flyes: (L4) #6 x9, x8
Lying Cable SLR: (L12) #2 x10, x8
Cable Tri Ext with rope: (L12) #8 x9, x7

Again aiming for solid reps with a 5 sec negative. As I warmed up for CGBP I knew 90kg would be too much with this style of training. Settled on 85kg which is probably a touch too heavy still but I will work with it. Shoulder press felt okay with the back mostly due to lighter weights. Need to remember to tilt upper torso more though and less at the lower back. Dips added 3kg to bring reps down. Never done cables flyes lying down before but quite enjoyed the strict movement. Finished off with a couple of quick sets on the rope, though I did forget my plan was a rest pause set here. Not really an issue today as total training time was 40 mins lol.

Weighed in this morning at 101kg (+0.05kg) with a 101.5cm (+0.5cm) waist up from 9 day’s ago. I’d say I’m bang on maintenance now and can put the waist measurement down to typical variance. Still want to drop a few kgs of fat but also desperately want to add muscle lol. With the blast on the horizon I figure I would make more progress long term if I cut whilst trying to preserve size before the blast, rather than a tiny surplus trying to add size over the next three months before the blast and still having the fat on.

Going to keep cals at maintenance and have a few low cal days a week. This will be quite easy with my shift pattern. Will see how it goes with the scales.

Cheers!

Solid as ever mate. Shame about the GIFS, it'll be access to un-authorized sites next. Happened to me at my last Corperate Company, made the days very long, and my own phone bandwidth usage high..lol
