Bulk Powders Aftermath

Thinking about getting an all in one purely for use as a post workout. What are thoughts on Bulk Powders Aftermath? Any alternatives worth considering? I'm also considering PHD ISO-7. This would be my only supplement and as I only train twice a week I wont be using tons of the stuff. I'm trying to avoid one loaded with carbs.

Also on a more general note are all in one type supplements really worth it or are they a bit of a gimmick. I usually avoid supplements completely (I currently occasionally use hemp protein post workout but thats it) as I prefer to go for whole foods. I'm just keen to find out whether using something like this post workout will noticably aid in recovery.

I got a bag here ready to go. It's less an all-in-one (I've seen the blurb they use and know they call it an all-in-one but they also suggest post workout use so...plus I'll use pure whey the rest of the day) and more a post workout shake. I've a bit more of some DY Tempro to get through (from Powerbody and also reviewed by me on their forum) then I'll be giving the Aftermath a go.

I looked at this today. It looks very comprehensive and uses vitargo as the carb source. Looks a cracking all in one.

I think the table they have produced showing the differences with other brands is excellent.

Post up your thoughts when you try it Steve.

As you mention it , Ive reviewed PHD Iso 7 and I thought it was excellent

I've not seen the table. I'll look now. I will say, as you'll know from facebook, I've gained back all but 2lbs of the 10 I lost on that virus. Oh an Clubber on UGM complained the strawberry Tempro was lumpy. I had to point out that'll be the freeze dried strawberry bits ha ha

I have to agree that is a very nice looking post work out shake, especially as I like vitargo and isolate is the main protein source. I've seen too many with blends as the protein source in "all in ones" and its starting to piss me off a little.

I cant say a PWO shake will give you better recovery time than eating whole foods, it depends on alot of other factors. It's just a quick and convenient way of getting some fuel into your system after you have worked out.

My suggestion for consideration, (slightly bias as I use this) a scoop of peptopro and a scoop of waxy maize starch. If you buy some bulk powders yourself it will work out cheaper in the long run and you can pick what you want to use and how much.

As per a comment of mine in another thread it IS a small difference. However, I'm in the fortunate position of being able to do these things daily (or as in this case after a workout) so can see if they do indeed make a small difference. Over months and years I should see something.

If not I wont ask for it again ha ha
