Tesco's also sell 150g bags for 24p at the moment - well at the Warrington Extra one they do anyway.

The 150g bags aren't Tesco own label like the 100g bags.

    Actually seems it's nationwide - http://www.mysupermarke...ispy_Soy_Beans_150g.html

Don't know about bulk sizes I'm afraid.

Have you tried those though? I've got both and whilst not the same they are pretty similar, I do actually call them soy nuts, didn't realise they were labelled as soy beans....

you can eat the nuts how they come, the beans need to be boiled in a pan before eating.

The Humdinger crispy soy beans are baked and are ready to eat - no preperation required. As I say they taste and have a texture / consistency in the mouth that is similar to the 100g packets of soy nuts that Tesco sell.

At 24p for a bag why not risk buying a packet :)

Cheapest just to buy the raw beans and roast 'em yaself.
I add chilli flakes for a savoury nut and a mix of cinnamon, icing sugar and sometimes honey for a sweet treet.

Way less than even 24p per 100g!

At the Tesco I go to there is more than one 'whole foods' section confusingly, the Humdinger crispy soy beans are in the, I guess, bulk whole foods area rather than the smaller snack pack type area....

I stumbled across these accidentally in Tesco and got some as I was looking for something easy to eat with a lot of protein. Marmite on a slice of toast wasn't cutting it as there is only so much of the stuff that you can eat and I wanted to up my protein more. The nutritional stats on these are great and they taste really good too. I was surprised by the stats actually. I think I might even use them to replace protein bars. Be cheaper, more protein and natural ingredients.

Do you think it would be ok to eat say 100-200g of these a day? I've read a few things about soy and oestrogen levels?

    Cheers.

soy nuts are soy beans that have been boiled and baked in an oven.

does this process take anything away nutritionally from them?
