I remember when I was trying to bulk up a few years ago and just did lifting with no cardio etc. I got out of breath really quickly. I do mainly muay thai now so lots of cardio and then 3 or 4 weight sessions a week. Feel much better now fitness wise but obviously its not as easy to put on size due to the number of calories I burn.
You can always throw in a few HIIT sessions a week if you feel you might need them. Quick and effective for fitness.
