Bust Wii

Has anyone successfully resurrected a dead Wii?

I've tried cleaning the lens but still it tells me that it's unable to read the disc.

Much sadness.

No warranty left John? Or after a quick fix?

No, but I did have trouble one time when I was putting the disk in the wrong way round.  Had a total brain block that day.

Worth phoning Nintendo still, they are quite helpful on the 'helpline'.

Sony fixed my PS3 which was a month out of warranty when the BD drive packed in.

You can certainly argue such a fault shouldn't happen in such a short time.  Even out of warranty you still have soem rights.

Are you sure it's not just the disc? I had trouble with House of the Dead Overkill and had to get my money back in the end.
