CARB LOADING

If i've got a cricket match lined up for all day saturday, and want maximum energy when im on the field, when is the best time for me to carb load in preparation?? Obviously i will have simple carbs like haribos or something just before the game... but complex carbs a day or 2 before... pasta etc?

Does anyone have any experience/knowledge on this matter?

Alhamduillah.

Is the cricket that demanding that it needs pre fuelling a day or 2 before? ? ?

Carbs on the morning should be fine.

Yes it is, keeping wicket in first team cricket is no easy job. If i was to carb load the day/night before, would it be ready to use on the saturday??

    Yes.

Some on the night before, last few meals.

Then some more the morning of your match.

    as above

carb loading is associated with endurance events not watching paint dry and chucking the odd ball around

simply et enough carbs in the morning and perhaps take a carb drink to sip on

I always carb up 2 days out on nice starchy stuff like tatties and then normal the next day and day of so i am not weighed down and bloaty - also means you dont over do it

I would have though that if your nutrition is sound then hydration would be your main concern, and I would avoid energy drinks because they tend to cause crashes in energy more readily in my experience and save them for later on near the end so the crash comes after the game ends.
