Calf pumps - poor circulation

For the last month or so, Since starting a reasonable cardio program, I have been getting excercise related pain in my calves. At first i thought it ay be just strains but it seems to be due to circulation as they get massive pumps for very little effort.

Have been told this may be the cause and that something such as acupuncture may improve it?

Any ideas would be really appreciated

It feels like cramps in both calves?

What kind of cardio are you doing?

Do you train calves with weights?

I'm not sure about the accupuncture, I hope someone else can inform you on that.

not so much 'cramps' more like a throbbing ache which subsides 5-10 mins post excercise, even just a short burst like runing up the stairs is enough to trigger the sensation, if im running, 20mins in my left calf feels like its gonna explode followed shortly but not as intensly by my right side.

Im not so sure about the acupuncture, just suggested by a friend.

Any other ideas as to what it may be? if i press the area, it is tender to touch but only if pressed fairly firmly. not so much in the main two muscles but the underlying area at the back.

I would get it checked out by a doctor. pains in your calfs can be blood clots.
