Calf raises

Hiya,

The majority of exercises I perform are 5x5, however I have heard that calfs respond better to larger frequencies.

I attempted 3x15 yesterday evening and it went well, but I have noticed that some people recommend 3x8. I'm simply concerned that I may have worked them too hard, although I only train them once a week.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Cheers,

Dave

Calves are used everyday so people often say they need more of a shock in order to grow. I wouldnt go that heavy on them as full range of motion is the most important aspect for full calve deveolpment and you may loose this if you go too heavy. I pick a weight I can manage 12-15 reps for and do 3 sets of standing and also seated. Get a good stretch at the bottom of the movement and a full peak at the top where you are as far on your tip toes as you can.

Read the above, I have been on this routine for about 6 weeks now and have seen some really dramatic results, it is hard, hurts like a b***ard but well worth it.

Let us know if you can walk the following day!!!!
