Calling Gamer-Geeks, What Are You Excited About?

I know there must be plenty of guys (and girls) on here who are into gaming, though I don't see games discussed too often on here.

What games are people currently playing and what are you looking forward to?

I'm constantly playing DOTA2 and I've just pre-ordered The Evil Within (PC version) which is due out next week.

Also really excited about Evolve, from the team that came up with Left 4 Dead, which is a co-op shooter where a team of humans takes on a giant monster (4 players play the humans, 1 player is the monster) and it looks awesome!!

How about you?

Currently playing Fora Horizon 2, about the best racer I have ever played so far.

Looking forward to the Master Chief Collection, more for the remastered Halo 2 as most of my younger life was wasted in the Multiplayer.

Sunset overdrive looks pretty good as well, not sure if I would have the time.

I've never been into driving games, except ones where you can also kill things (e.g. GTA, Carmageddon). I guess I just need to be able to kill in a game to truly enjoy it. That is quite chilling but true!

i sold my xbox one after having to send it back twice and having 2 units die!
unreliable flaky piece of crap....

long install times for games on disc really grated my ass

i'm missing not playing dead or alive as that game was the nuts, i wanted to play the new Skyrim after losing 200+ hours of my life on it with different characters.

That's disappointing to hear, I am planning to get an Xbox One at some point (when they drop the price a little more and have a few more exclusive titles that I HAVE to have) but for now I'm sticking with PC gaming.

I guess it will be the same for the One as the 360, as time goes on they will retool the build of the console and it will be more reliable, my original 360 red-ringed and the one I got back (which was the updated model) has been fine ever since (about 5 years).

Call of Duty fan myself.  I know it gets a lot of flack for being repetitive and that there's a ton of campers, but I enjoy the fact that you can just jump in to a game at any point and just kill.

recently finished, The Last of us remastered (PS4) really enjoyed that.

Not seen many good reviews of Destiny, so will give that a miss.

I'll probably end up buying the latest COD and also considering the new Aliens game.

fan inside was faulty so every time game play started it sounded like it was about to take off.
fan knocking a heatsink more than likely.

2nd fault was the blu-ray player, it refused to read discs

DOTA2 was the last game I played and enjoyed, havnt played it for over a year now  though. Currently playing Hearthstone on PC/Ipad, its a great game once you get stuck in, so addictive and its free to play like DOTA2

I do a lot of push ups and sit ups. And I drink plenty of milk.

Playstations for me, always regretted buying the Xbox's and ende up selling them on after a few months of not using them.

Currently looking forward to GTA V on the PS4, along with the new Batman game (both the Lego and the arkham)
Gives me a break from Lego Marval as its all the baby every plays. The new Shadow of Mordor isn't too bad at the moment.

In the process of Getting a platinum on Battlefield 4, Mass Effect and Dead Rising 2.

I find it hard to relate to the gaming community nowadays due to the way it has shifted heavily towards games focused on generic, repetitive action and great graphics. Shooters and arcade style simulators are "pass time" games to me, something to play on a console when I have an hour to kill. No matter how good the graphics may be, it's always the same thing and to me that kind of video game got old a long time ago. And don't get me started on MMOs.

I like immersive story-driven games, especially a proper single player RPG, and I could spend a whole weekend playing Skyrim or Mass Effect for example.

Alas I don't play that much anymore and don't keep track of what's new, because I just don't have the time for the proper games that I enjoy (especially since these games are usually pretty long with lots of optional stuff to do).

After the mammoth feck up microsoft made of the xbox one, I doub't i'd go back to them unless something apoaclyptically stupid happens to sony.

I dont know, it seems Sony got it more wrong than what MS tried to do.

Look at Drive Club for the monumental lying to customers and false promises.

Look at how much down time and the slowness of PSN+ is getting, look at the sheer lack of updates and functionality the PS4 is bringing.

Also, MS seems to be winning the big exclusives and better games.

Driveclub's issues seem to be more from the developers than sony though, to be fair. PS4 has been slow to get its own exclusives out though, I agree. They were silly not to have something like an Uncharted ready by now.

Ps plus has been the biggest disappointment for me. Too many retro platformers. I did keep the ps3 though and it gets a fair amount of use for ps plus games.

They're still outselling xbox though, so it looks like consumer confidence in ms hasn't recovered even with sony's mistakes and hack vulnerability

Drive Club it typical Sony though.
Promised the Free version on release of the PS4.
Delayed a Year.
Realses games incomplete with no weather system in place, but will be available to download at some point in the future, now, bear in mind when MS talked about a better system always being connected online so no disc swapping would be needed, remember how the Sony fans went NUTS over that?
Sonys idea, release games with out key components that are made ONLY as downloadable content.
Pull the FREE version you promised everyone, but the full paid for version goes ahead, under the fact that the PSN Network cant handle the downloads, THEN when the piad version comes out, hey, servers wont let you play online when its marketed as the social game.

All for the gamers of course...right?

Looking forward to building my first PC. Also to trying out Battlefield Hardline. Always preferred them over COD.
