Calorie drop interval amount?

What would you say is the optimal drop in calories each time when you hit a plateau? 200?

I would go 250, but that is because it makes me better from an OCD point of view.

Either way, a slow gradual drop would be better than a sudden or large drop straight away.

Why does 250 appease the OCD gods?

Perhaps because most people traditionally suggest a 500 calorie deficit when giving out advice, so I just half it so it's easier to manage.

But no 'real' reason to be honest.

The thing is though mate, where do you go after you plateau after your initial 500 cal drop?

That's the thing... I like food too much to be dropping too low on my intake, so I'd have to end up increasing output by throwing in another session, or some cardio perhaps.

Again though mate, only so far you can take the cardio. Cutting is a feeking minefield.

The first I'd be thinking is why have you hit a plateau. It could even be because your calories are too low ie dieting too strict. Could be you need a break from the gym for a couple of days. Have you noticed much of a drop in muscle mass? Dieting too strict and training too much will cause muscle loss and lower your ability to be burning more calories. Are your fats low? I personally am very wary of cardio when low carbing. I go catabolic in a heartbeat lol.

This is just hypothetical mate and am starting my cut as of next week. I've made mistakes in the past and want to avoid them this time around.

    Oh ok mate
I don't count cals but started my cut now. I just try to have carbs once a day. Once you got enough carbs in the system for your workout just let them run down afterwards. My advice would be to keep those deficits small with a refeed day every week.

At the start of a diet just decrease your cals by 8-10%, you cannot just randomly say 500 calories as this takes into account nothing. Someone could be 20st and someone could be 8st. 500cals off a 20st monster eating 5000cals a day is 10% but if someone is 8st eating 1500 then its 33% which would be ridiculous.
