    what is an average man?

    a 120lb office worker?

or a man who is 200lb and works on a building site everyday?

guidelines are suggested at 2500 cals which IMO is simply pointless

it simply isnt a one size fits all equation IMO

not only that, different people will need different macronutrient ratios within that framework

the average meal out for 2 people in a resturant costs £25

would you take £25 to the Hilton hotel and expect a meal?

would you take £25 to mcdonalds or wimpy?

but is there some calculations for instance on how much average calorie intake has changed in the past couple of decades?

Judging from the average waistlines, i would say it has increased (and calorie expenditure has dropped as well)

totally agree 2500 is average thats exactly what it means, if you add up the cals for every person and divide that by the number of ppl then you get 2500.

    nutrition is indvidual

for example if my mum ate 2500 cals she'd blow up like a fat american, if I ate 2500cals I roughly maintain. If TT ate 2500 whilst on one of his cycling marathon seasons he'd most probably drop weight faster than an anerexic on speed.

I'm 16.5 stone........and at the moment shedding 1-2lbs per week.....daily calories varies from 2500 to 3000 depending if it's a trainign day or not............seems about right for me....not hungry...plenty of energy........weights getting heavier a little each week too.

Time and patience and keeping good records is the only way really
