    There's no reg as weather horrendous and fading light, and the angle is far from ideal.
    The vehicle had a spare wheel attached to the boot & I believe had 2 spot headlights on the front; though these could have been non-standard to the car I guess

    Um Dihatsu Terrios maybe I think they come in 3/5 doors.

    Rasp, The rear lights look further down to me rather than high on the Dihatsu?

    being bored at work and google searching 4x4 images, wheels, window shape, paint work around wheel arches
     
    it looks like a 2001 Mitsubishi Pajero 2001

    It pulled out of the left hand junction straight out in front of the girl in the white octavia in front. There was a collision & the 4x4 failed to stop. Another witness has a partial index number

    Its still going to be hard to track down they could be any where & false plates any thing i would not waste your time i dont mean that in a bad way.

    Looks very similar Beanyman!
    It doess appear to have a thinner rear corner pillar as per your example rather than a thicker one like the Mitsubishi above. 
     
    I think we've pretty much narrowed it down to one of two

    Bingo!!! Beanyman has it, its defo a Kia Sportage, similar to the Suzuki.

    Looks about right, the front lights look very vitara though.
