Can someone recommend me a diet

Hi all, im still pretty new to all this, so any suggestions/advice would come in handy and be appreciated.

Im 5ft 10 and my weight is approximatley 12 stone 9lbs.

Im looking to lose body fat whilst maintaining strength, im currently going to the gym 4 days a week doing the following:

Mon: Back and bi's, 30mins cv
Weds: Legs, 30mins cv
Fri: Chest and tri's, 30mins cv
Sunday: Shoulders, 30mins cv

Ideally im looking for a diet that will match/help me with my routine at the moment and maybe speed up the results slightly.

Thanks

    Hi,

Can you post up your current diet then we can make adjustments and recommendations from there.

Ok, here is a rough idea of my current diet.

7.00am: 30g of oats w/ slice of granary bread and peanut butter.

    11.00am: A banana and apple.

1:00pm: Granary bread sandwich w/ chicken/salad or an omlete.

3:00pm: Handful of nuts or a couple oatcakes.

    4:45: Train

    7:00pm: A variation of meat/fish and veg. Rice/pasta

I was thinking whether I should start having an early morning cardio workout, would this be beneficial?

Do you have a goal in mind, or a time frame?

0700 meal lacks protein so try to get something in here, even if it's a whey shake

You need some protein after your training, again a whey shake might be a good option.

With regards to morning cardio, yes this is an option - but for me personally I would leave that until later on in the 'game' when fat loss starts to slow - that's why I was asking if you had some sort of time frame in mind.

Well my aim is to get down to about 12 stone, but still maintaining good strength and shape.

I haven't really got a time frame in mind, its a long term goal

Probably steady state cardio then for you.  What equipment do you use for cardio at the moment?   I prefer the cross trainer myself.

I tend to mix it up with either the cross trainer, treadmill or rowing machine
