Can you tell if food has been microwaved by taste?

As above. When you taste food in a restaurant or at home, can you tell if it's been microwaved as opposed to having been oven baked or grilled?

I was out for a meal earlier tonight and some guy at the next table started complaining that his apple crumble was microwaved rather than oven baked. He said the topping wasn't crispy enough so this meant that it hadn't been in the oven and that they were scamming him lol. He was quite the nutter. It looked pretty nice to me.

From taste, no. From texture, definitely.
Wait, this thread is about cooking, not reheating.Or is it?Pretty much nothing cooks better in a microwave than by ordinary means. It's fine for heating stuff up though.

Occasionally yes, but again texture is the give away.

Some textures of stuff yes as its soggy due to being steamed. But taste wise not really.

For some reason scrambled eggs in the microwave taste different. I have them everyday at work around mid morning and the taste and texture is weird?

Not taste wise no, but it does seem to affect the texture of some foods.
Lets face virtually fast food outlets micrwave their food, especial curry houses and burger outlets.

    Ignorance: Reassuringly Expensive.

Taste is affected by texture so I'd say yes.

Bacon in the mircowave sounds wrong, I know of people that do this though, but I have never tried it myself. I like my Bacon fat crispy and brown.

I do a lot of push ups and sit ups. And I drink plenty of milk.

I only found out recently that you can, in fact, cook in the microwave. I know a guy who makes sausages in them and they do come out cooked.

Have to agree with the jacket spuds although I will do them in the microwave first for ten minutes and then crisp them up in a hot oven for 20 mins. That can work.

Texture is as important, if not more important than taste imo.

There are certain foods I won't eat purely because of the texture.

    Body Weight - 83kg
    Bench - 145kg
    Squat - 190kg
    Clean & Jerk - 129kg
    Snatch - 98kg
