Can't get my head straight...

I'm struggling at the moment with things. I'm on a disciplinary at work and I'm pretty sure that the woman in charge of my department wants me gone. I'm not at all motivated to do any work/research towards my dissertation and feel like my course doesn't really matter. I can't seem to get a day to day routine established, everything seems like way too much effort. I'm not sleeping well and have let my training slip. I hooked up with an old friend the other night (in itself, not a problem, we've been 'fcuk buddies' for years)... and quite frankly, little fish was reluctant to co-operate. I never feel hungry and when I force myself to eat I feel ill.

I understand that everyone has off-days/weeks... but things haven't been right for a long while now and it seems that nothing I do ever makes anything better. Am I depressed? I always thought that being depressed would be much worse... like 'I want to slit my wrists' thoughts or something...

We do not forgive. We do not forget.

Sounds like depression to me mate, id go see your GP.

EDIT just thought i should add ive been treated for depression for the past 18months, and your circumstances sounded very similar to mine.

You really have to work though problems as single units and deal with them, looking at them all as a whole just causes anxiety as it seems impossible to overcome.

I quit my job in jan this year, and it was a massive trigger in my gettting better.

on reflection, if its been like this for a while then you could be depressed.

do you reckon theres a deeper issue thats caused it?

Yep mate they all the "classic" signs of depression. Im long term sufferer aswell. Dont hid away, dont be ashamed of it and dont wait n hope it passes! talk to some one! usually its easier (wel i found) to talk to some one you dont know and who you feel wont judge you. Keep your chin up! you aint alone

Its time for a course of test by the sounds.

When I feel like this, test makes all the problems go away.

Perhaps you should get your Test/Thyroid levels checked by the doctor?
