Cardio "condition"

If you don't lift weights for a few weeks [ 2 as I remember] then muscle atrophy begins.

I cycled this morning ,1st time in 5days which is a big gap 4 me because of work commitments,admittedly it was very windy but I did feel slow so my question is ,is cardio fitness something that diminishes quickly?

I thought the heart was a muscle and thus workked like one,is it more lungs?

    Your fitness begins decreasing after 2 weeks, same as muscle aptrophy, but, there are other factors which affect your cardio performance which are affected by a lay-off. Can't remember what they are though so don't ask :p
