Cat thread! Apparently they manipulate us.

Well... no sh1t Sherlock!

Apparently the cunning and eminently furry little critters employ a special purr at a frequency similar to baby noises.

Most definitely, it`s quite funny though, Bazil has a really loving purr and gets extremely affectionate in an effort to manipulate me or just sits there next to his bowl looking sad, Bob has this whining f*ckin moan which he knows does my head in, he`ll do it until I get up and let him out or feed him.
I reckon each cat has definitely worked out which gets the best/desired response.

Friend of mine had a cat that used to pick up its bowl like a dog and thrust it under his nose.  Now THAT is a direct approach.

Can you take a recording of duck-cat?

That would make me very happy indeed.

My rolls over on his back, stretches, rolls back over a few times and makes a chunnering sound and has what I call a look of love in his eyes...as soon as the food cupboard door is open, he's there like a shot, flirting forgotten!!

My little angel has the following tactic to get fed when I am asleep

    1. Stand on my chest and lick my face until I get up

He is so adorable that I do feel rather helpless in the whole thing.

My little lad is quite the opposite , that when my wife rings me and says what are you doing , I often reply "Gaying it up with the cat", meaning that we are as usual connected fur to torso.

Example, yesterday he was asleep on the sofa and I was going to be for a nap, so I called his name and he sleepily looked up, "Comon I said" waving him towards me and went to bed.

Guranteed, as ever, c30secs late I hear his little feet land on the bed and push himslef in to cuddle up with me, torso pushed against me with his little head on my arm.

Bless, and they say cats dont "love" people.

Most people remark that we are more "connected" than you usually see, and I think thats because when he was a kitten I was off work for several mths and my wife wasnt living with me (we had temp seperated), so we were together all day, I fed him, he slept with me etc so he kinda sees me as his mum I guess !

Does anyone know if cats are compatible with Chincheelas/rabbits?

Our Chincheela and rabbit are usually trying to kill each other.

Cats don't love you - they use you to get things.  They use you for food (notice how they vanish when they get what they want) and warmth (again, will vanish once done).  Selfish little fcukers.
