Cheap Student Diet - 3 Large meals

Hi im going back to uni in september, so wont be able to afford the 4 meals and 2 oats/whey shakes ive been having over the summer, so was wondering if anyone could help me out
 
Im planning on having 3 large meals a day at 1000 calories a meal, provided they give plenty of protein which im sure they will
 
then add onto this 2 protein shakes (oats and whey if i can afford if not will be cheap weight gainer)
Thats a good 4500 calories at least there, was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on foods i can use for the meals while on a budget?

    whats your budget?

    i managed a half decent bb diet on 40 quid a week.

    Hazard a touch of narcissism without shame.
    There is no room for junk food in any diet whatsoever, leave the junk in the bin.

    I don't understand your logic of only being able to afford 3 meals.

    You could split those 3 x 1000cal meals into 6 x 500cal meals, or 4 x 750cal ones.

    to be honest its just personal preference, sharing a kitchen with 9 other people doesnt give me much room

    but also i read somewhere that eating 3 large meals slows metabolism more than 6 small ones, as the body doesnt think it has a constant supply, i dont know if thats true or not though

    budget is around 30-40 a week varies really, could you send me your diet you had stone? anything to give me ideas is great

    cheap foods.. tinned tuna, mackerel and sardines..
    turkey mince
    frozen beef mince
    oats, pasta, bread
    frozen veg
    frozen fruit
