Chest tattoo with a hairy chest?

I've had a few small tats lately and seeing as my chest is my best muscle I thought I'd get a tat on one of my pecs.

But I'm naturally hairy. I shave my chest every couple of weeks with a hair trimmer on bare blade so it's down to very short stubble. So I'm never clean shaven and if I am it's not for long. What would a tat look like with a bit of hair/stubble going on?

Oh course when I get old I may stop the shaving routine but I won't care that my tat is covered by then.

How do people go on with leg tats when they have hairy legs??

Won't be a problem unless your hair is freakishly dark, thick and wiry. Leg tats are the same. I found that after my calves had been shaved to do the tattoos, the hair never grew back the same, others have said the same.

My missus has the side of her head shaved and tattooed, even after a week or so of growth you can still clearly see it.

    What's the tat?

I must admit I'm not a fan of chest tattoos, I don't really know why. I don't think I've ever seen one I liked the look of. Hairy chests though

Ha, well I should be hairy but obviously I don't give it chance these days.

I'm not 100% sure of the tat yet.  Basically I want a quote on there.  But most of my tats are text based so I want a bit more than just the text.  Some kind of shading and design around it.

Ah right.  My quote is about 15 words so I imagine it would take up 2 or 3 lines to fit nicely.

Surely the natural curve of your chest changes over time though? Hence why they look terrible.

I don't 'get' having writing on the chest... I know tattoos are personal and it's just my opinion but especially when you've got a really good chest (like you do from your pic) it detracts from it.

Stick a pic up mate when you get chance, I'm curious to see how it looks seeing that it's so similar.

I sort of see it the opposite way round.  It's my best muscle there fore a good place to put a tat.

Picture it when you're older and you've got moobs or at the least saggy/wrinkly chest. It's going to be illegible. Whereas tattoos on other parts will still look pretty much the same.

I guess you've made your mind up though so I hope it goes well (and no typos!)

    I like that mate.

But I was thinking more of keeping mine on one side.  Bit like this (not the best example but all I could find).

And when I say with shading I mean something like this...... but not as dark and just on the chest

You could say that about most tats though.  And will I really care when I'm old and have moobs?  I'll most likely stop shaving my chest then and it'll be pretty covered.

I've already got a quote down my side that I'm happy with.

Love the second one the shading actually adds the definition and shape of his chest
