Clenbuterol in Rugby League (NRL)

I'm interested to know what real use Clenbuterol could have to professional athletes such as Rugby League players.
In the past few months there have been a number of players who have been caught using it; especially in Australia.
I have used Clen and have found it only of a little use as a stimulant while cutting, I have heard that it has other anti-catabolic properties but I just wondered why these guys are getting caught for using something that doesn't really have that much benefit?
Surely it would be worth more getting on HGH or something similar or is Clen just part of a bigger picture?

Well many mistake it for some kind of steroid that will "cut you up good" etc. It's anti catabolic effects are negligible. The reason many mistake it for a steroid is that it's been reported to have anabolic effects in cattle. It's an asthma medication used in cattle therefore helps cardio, that may be why some are using it.
