Close grip bench press, how close?

Hey, im wanting to do close grip bench press for triceps but wonderd how close are you hands supposed to be. Shoulder width apart?

    Yeah, whatever feels comfortable. shoulder width or slightly narrower would be fine. Just keep your elbows tucked in and concentrate on the triceps doing the pushing.

    Yeah, whatever feels comfortable. shoulder width or slightly narrower would be fine. Just keep your elbows tucked in and concentrate on the triceps doing the pushing.

    set your left hand where you want it, then move three hand-widths over with the right. that's what I use as a rough measuremenet, works unless you have giant hands.

    I agree w/ AW. I keep to 6-8 inches.
