Collected fines?

It seems to me in any given year that an awful lot of fines are collected by the police, parking fines (both council and private), Ofcom, Com this and Com that and so on and seemingly increasing every year.

Just exactly where does all this go? The vast amounts collected don't seem to improve anything. I don't see speeding fines collected being spent on improved street lighting and so on.

I want some of it! (don't we all........)

tbh i think a lot is spent on buying more cameras/technology so they can fine us some more imo treasury has very deep pockets.

add to that, health and education

i'd say thats the large bulk of it.

fwiw, revenue from cameras is not up to much, apparently simon cowell pays more income tax than cameras generate
