Complex or simple carbs with insulin? (fat gain)

I have always taken 10IU's humalog pre-workout (so the peak is immediately post-workout). 15 mins after the injection I've began to sip 40g dextrose and 40g whey protein throughout the duration of the workout and 1 hour after the injection (post-workout) I've taken 70g dextrose and 40g whey protein in one shake. I have never had any problems with hypoglycaemia.

My question is whether the second meal would be better consisting of complex carbs, simple carbs or a combination of the two (bearing in mind that I want to keep fat-gain to a minimum and to avoid going hypo)?

Normally high GI carbs cause fat-gain through stimulating the release of high insulin levels, but in this case I'm controlling my insulin levels rather than the type of carbs I ingest.

u already have a steady flow ov simple carbs running through your body with your combined 110g from ur dextrose intake so no need to use simple again id go with complex as this will provide a steady but slow release ov carbs for upto 3 hours also have a dextrose drink on hand just in case
ur muslces should alreay be full ov nutrients due to the massive shke intake u have had so watever goes in quick i.e: dextrose will convert to fat or and not be stored as glycohen
hope this makes sense to you

Powerhouse: would he not be better with a combination of complex and simple (or rather low GI, and high GI), for when the humalog peaks??

Say 50g low GI/30g High GI?

So are you saying that because he has already taken in 40g dextrose, his glygogen stores will have already been replenished, and therefore any more high GI carbs taken in after, cant be used for this purpose and will be sored as fat??

    Thanks mate

yes really i do use a mixture ov say 20gram dextrose and 30gram malto
im not saying that anything after the 40gram will be stored as fat as its not 40gram add another 70gram to that and then that where the problems starts thats 110grams ov sugars in 1-2 hours i know this is safe but also bad for the fat gain after this dose id say ur stores would be up
