RE: Considering Law as a career
Law is a good career but you get back what you put in. Get your applications for training contracts in early especially to the big firms. I work for a large in house firm. Its great mate, 9-5 hours, perks, no pressure or billing targets. Think about where you want to specilse too makes it easier down the line when you structure your LPC basically got to think whether you want to do things like crime or employment or family or things like company law, acquisitions, corporate etc. I prefer the bread and butter stuff so I do employment and commercial fast moving and action packed. Be warned some law can be tedious but always remember its never as hard in practice as it is when your doing your studies it gets easier along the way.
The route you have outlined is good. Can be difficult and theres lots of work but like I say you get back what you put in. Harder you work better your pay check at the end of the day, aim high and look at the big firms!
My advice financially get a professional skills loan from Natwest good interest rates and set up for professional studies. Pay back over ten years if you want also.
