Ohh dear, yes, Sony went thru a patch where they though that DRM'ing all of there Cd's was a good idea, unfortunatly this stopped legitimit buyers being able to rip them to iPods etc etc, after about 100 lawsuits filed agast them Sony dropped all usage of it, you may be stuck with some that made it to markets over here.

Ther's nothing I know of that will break DRM protection mate.

When you put these CD's into your PC, does (or has) a box popped up up saying MediaMax Installer or something similar?
If so, there is a way around this.

There's a way to convert DRM-WMAs - it relies on capturing the sound card output. There's a number of programs that can do this.

    However:

    1. It has to be done in real time as it records while playing, so if you have many files it'll take a long time.

    2. It would also record any sound card noise, a particular problem with cheaper inbuilt ones. Things like scroll noise etc.

I bought some audio books on itunes to put on my phone. I was led to believe I could do this but have had no luck. Can put them on to a cd but they will not go on my phone.

If it's part of a CD-3 copy protection, the solution is much simpler.
