Cookery Programmes on TV

Is there anything that can be done to stop them? We could just not watch them but hiding from a problem is not a remedy. There needs to be some sort of finality.

I like cookery shows. Well, assuming you're including things like Masterchef in that category? What's wrong with them?

Agreed with he above. I think as TV goes they are better than most of the dross on it. I really like the ones where is hows you were the produce comes from especially if its more exotic. Some of Flloyds stuff in India was awesome.

My Mrs watches them all the time. I don't mind the odd one but my suggestions that we watch my box set of band of brothers etc fall on deaf ears. Even tonight as I sat down with my dinner the suggestion was "shall I put on the last recorded episode" of Masterchef. A part of me dies each time as I know that's another evening where I have to watch them.
That and quiz shows. We both mostly work at home - she likes the TV on in the background (which is something I only like to do occasionally if I don't need to concentrate). A typical day is bouncing from Tipping Point, The Chase (which I don't mind too much) to Eggheads (which does my nut as they give those boring, detailed descriptions of why they chose each answer).

I don't mind them and will watch some of them the odd time, even 'Come Dine With Me', like the sarcastic comments of the commentator person on there.

I will happily watch good cooking shows, but they always make me hungry and I'm a food addict.

I do enjoy Heston's shows, and love Australian Masterchef.
