Cooking your car

Anybody know someone that has put cooking oil in there diesel car (as we all know that would be breaking the law).
How much and how do poleple do it?

    heard it still costs 80p/ litre and really stinks when you use it.

    My Dad does it. He alternates it between 1 tank of real diesel then 1 tank of veggy oil (apparently this is the best way to do it for the engine). Veggy oil stuff is about 90p per litre

    Get talkin to some farmer types and get some red diesel, thats cheap as chips too

    get caught with red diesel and you'll be fcuked.

    I am sure veggi oil can ruin various seals if the car is not equipped to use it. I wouldnt put it in my unless 100% sure it was ok. Most modern diesel engines are very precisely engineered. The injectors, pumps etc are all much higher performance than the old smokers of yester-year.

    I know on my TDI PD, that if I use the wrong oil it can wear the camshaft down.

    Arn't they growing Maize on a massive scale for exactly this purpose? Why is it illegal to use biodiesel in your car?

    A bloke I work with drives a Peugeot 306 Diesel, he knows the local chip shop owner, he gets sunflower oil from him regularly to put in his car.
