You can still use creatine yes.
Calories eaten against calories used is what ultimately determines weight loss - then performing resistance training and ensuring a good high protein diet within your calorie targets is what will influence the quality of the weight loss.
The more cardio you perform the more calories you will burn and thus this aids weight loss. If you monitor calories and log training and assess on a weekly to fortnightly basis your progress then you will be able to determine more or less cardio/food so on etc.
Most important thing is having diet in place - might be worth if you have not taking the time to figure this out and post it up for opinion as this is the most crucial aspect of weight gain or loss.
