Creatine not working for me?

Hey guys,

I've been taking creatine for about a month now... my initial loading period was 3 tsp/day for 9 days, and since then it's been 1tsp/day. I work out 6 times a week (mon-sat) and also take a scoop of whey protein powder a day post-workout.

I have gotten slightly bigger, but for me.. it seems the creatine had no effect. Anyone who works out 6 times a day with a proper workout-out partner will get slightly bigger arms..etc, which I have.. but I thought taking creatine would have helped boost me even more so.

My weight hasnt really increased either (+1pound)... am I doing something wrong?

I usually take the creatine at night, I put the powder in my mouth... chug some water, and down it.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated! :(

-Dave

6 times a week is alot of training. make sure your diet is really good. you might also want to think putting your training down to 4 days and give yourself more time to recover. OR you might be a creatine non-responder.

They mean m8 that you aint giving yourself enough time to recouperate, thats all..
You body needs time to grow m8 and by training the length and amout you do will probably not help you much.so cut back a little thats allTo much can just be as bad as too little m8

1.5 hours per bodypart!!!!! I would be curious to see how many exercises you are doing per muscle. IMO if you are doing more than a couple exercises per group you are definately lacking the proper intensity in your workout. Your muscles should be dead after a couple proper sets.

There is no reason you shouldn't lump a few muscles together to cut down to about 3-4 workouts/week, and even so your workouts shouldn't pass the hour mark. Check the training correctly forum for a decent workout plan.

What sort of creatine is it?

I use pharmacutical grade 99.6% which works well for me cycled at a month on then 1 week off.

I dont load either just 1 and a half teaspoons in grapefruit juice twice a day.

Yak, have a look at the Bodybuilding Routines section as you really are overtraining. There are some great routines there to pick from.

i love how you have a separate day for biceps, a day for triceps, and then just LEGS (quads hams calves and glutes) lovely stuff

get a better routine before you worry about fine tuning your supplement intake

if you're going through hell. keep going.

I think what steff is trying to subtley say is that you're MASSIVELY OVERTRAINING!

I mean an hour and a half on Biceps? hour and a half on tris? WAAAAY too much.

Try to stick to workouts of an hour (Though I hear from various sources that 45 minutes is optimum) but if you must spend that long, even it all out a bit.

    For example:
day1: Arms and abs (you should be able to do this in 45 mins!)
day 2: REST (let your body recover!)
    Day 3: Back (inc traps)
Day 4: Rest (again, your muscles need time to recover if you want them to GROW)
    Day 5: Chest and Shoulders.
    Day 6: Rest
    Day 7: Legs

TRUST ME you'll see better results like this. Bodybuilding is about training and eating SMART not necessarily for the longest time!

Your Tris are getting hit three times per week anyway on you old routine! (Remember tris are used for pressing mostions like shoulders press and benching!)

Ive been taking the creatine bombs that disolve in your mouth.

I can lift heavier weights and my muscles become really hard due to water retention.

They softened when I went on holiday for 2.5 weeks and now back to hard since ive started again.

    May be worth trying these?

Oh, and the 6 day workout thing... it was usually 1-4 excercises a day.
