Cutting up for summer diet help!

Hi guys, first post so here goes!

I'm currently 17st 3 and have packed on a lot of muscle over past 3 years, I train 5 times a week with weights - chest Monday, back Tuesday, legs weds, shoulders thurs and arms fri! This has really worked well for me with bulking and my strength is great!

So just wanting to cut now to see all the hard work, just starting cardio properly 3 times a week with half an hour and them some abs before breakfast! So hoping this will help!

My diet consists of 6 to 7 meals a day and normally aim for about 300g protein, 150-200g carbs.

My average day!

Cardio on cardio days
- Oats and protein shake
- tuna and brown pasta
- Tuna and brown pasta
- omelette with 3 yolks and 6 whites dash of skimmed milk
Workout
- 2 turkey steaks and sweet potato
- 5 egg whites
- whey protein

Is there anything diet wise I should be changing as well as my new found cardio change?

Any critiques or help would be great, thanks in advance!

I still want my energy from carbs to power thru the weeks, but should I be cutting the straight away?

wheres the fruit and veg man!! also a large handful of mixed nuts before a work out is a good little energy booster!

    hope this helps

Need some veg and fruit in there, and some healthy fats..

So I would lower your carb portions, add in the above... take starting measurements and measure again 2 weeks later, shoot for 2lb loss per week, no loss up cardio or reduce carb portions further (or a little bit of both).

That's great cheers guys, I do also get through 3 to 4 pieces of fruit a day and have salad with my evening meal. Does this mean I should lower my carrbs a bit as I will be getting a fair bit from Fruit!? I'm worried about losing the muscle I have put on and don't want to be catabolic, any ideas how to avoid this, some say take glutamine, I already take Arginine pre and post wo and have just stopped creatine pre and post wo as cutting now.

I cut all protein and carbs down by abut 20% on none wo days, does this seem right?

Done my second day of cardio and abs this morning, doesn't sound much but for me it's a lot as haven't done it in years, really enjoying it too, 5km/30 mins cross trainer and 3 abs exercises for 3 sets of 15-20!

cardio sounds good mate will you be upping it later on in your cut or just keeping it as it is? im similar to you ive just started my cutting diet/regime and have started to make up weight/ body weight circuits as a part of my cardio session! I also incoorprate abs into the circuit!
as for the catabolic issue you should be fine as long as you limit your cardio and not go too long!!
Someone please correct me if im wrong but BCAA also work well to help prevent muscle going into a catabolic state (i think)

That's great thanks for that mate!

At the mo im keeping the cardio as it is! Like I say i've really done it before so this should be interesting, leave it like this for a month and revise whats happened!

My gyms just getting refurbed so is closed for 3 days!!!!!!! Not Happy to say the least!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It kills me to miss them now, so pissed!

Will try the BCAA's though always read good things about them!

Is there anything I should be doing whilst taking these 3 days off? More protein and less carb maybe?!

Do we think that BCAA's would be the best to stop from going into a catabolic state then guys!?
