D I N O S A U R

I saw this in the latest MILO, accredited to Kelvin Gibbs, Greensboro, NC.

D determination, dedication and discipline, the keys to success.
I intensity of effort; half-hearted training won't do
N never say die, never give up
O others can do it, so can i
S strength, not just of body but of mind and character as well
A athlete, that's what a dinosaur is, as opposed to a narcissistic pretty boy who preens in front of a mirror
U unwavering devotion to tried and true, time honoured training regiments; no hi tech chrome plated dianabol dependant modern machine modalities for a dinosaur
R respect and reverence fot the masters who have blazed the trail, the progeny who may one day eclipse them, and for the iron game in general.

Fine words and sentiments imo.

It's just a pathetic approach, it's patronising, if Dinosaur is aimed at men who are mature enough to listen why ruin it by giving us the same type of display we had on the wall at school when we were 6? Maybe it's just how I intepreted, but the writer seems abit of an oxymoron... either that or he's just corny?

    Who knows..

I do train by those principles, Dinosaur training actually helped me ''find myself'' in the training world.

Not at all, just with the person who wrote it.

    Don't take it serious anyway.

PauliE, I think everything that's wrote there makes sense.

Of course, unless you're a narcissistic pretty boy who preens in front of a mirror

if these rymmes work dont knock it i was training to qualify for the barcelona olympics i had a t-shirt made up with NO PAIN NO GAIN NO SPAIN. I traineed in front of a mirror in my garage at the time in the t shirt i could see it all the time no getting away from it sounds corny but it motivated me. in a year i had to put 25k on my total and loose 3k bw and i could not do the qualifyer in a small comp like the british i had only 4 chances euros 91 and 92 and worlds 91 or silver dragon world cup tounament 92 (dont have a worlds in olympic year, olympics doubles up as worlds)
