Danny's journal to Leeds 2012 - MASS MASS MASS :)

HI Muscletalkers,
Show prep will be with Jordan or James but will see nearer the time

I have decided to start a Journal as I think it is time I started recording sessions etc.

A little bit about me I started training October 8th 2008, I since then have fell in love with training and everything about it and also went on to qualify as a PT.

My goals are to compete but I need to be ready many obstacles at the minute like I have not recorded / followed a training program for around 18 months, I do not have a set diet, and I need some  legs :)

My plan is now to follow a training program, a well devised diet and add in cardio not really done that either.

I have spasm in left quad / hip due to scar tissue, old injury and poor bio mechanics, now I am not gonna make excuse and need be consistent week in week out with legs, also seeing a sport therapist for shin splint type pains in forearms and will also get deep tissue soon when I can afford it.

Stats

Age - 28
Height - 5 foot 9
Weight - 94kg roughly
Training history - 2 and half years
BF % - unknown guessing around 18% judging on pics

Main focus - legs, calves, arms and back

But main goal is to be consistent and get the basics right

I will load up pics now, don't be to harsh, remember I am pale white and bad lighting lmao

Here is me October 2008 3 weeks into training

Here is a current pic

Will be following this one with interest mate. You are already in pretty good shape and you are fully aware of the areas that require improvement, so best of luck with this.

A journal should really help you get / stay on track.

    All the best mate.

went gym on only 50gwhey and 30g oats

Back terrible session, joints aching and tendons sore, cut session short waste of time IMO

4 weeks to holiday so a change in training for a month or so, gonna concentrate on blood volume and cardio, gain some fitness feel sluggish and need a change to be honest, may hit some tri sets and really test the mind :)

No way I could train on that little mate. Tried it once or twice in the past when on nights and just left me with a headache and dizzyness after my first set.

Mind was not in it to be honest, think Letro is smashing energy levels and joints :(

More omega 3s and water, I am still debating whether to do a TKD type of diet and training, really fancy doing something different, I just seem to go in at the mo train heavy as I can and lots of volume but it is taking its toll now

I am not bothered about being lean for holiday as that is only 4 weeks, but would like to be alot leaner by July when next blast will be, body is at 97kg and it feels it LOL

Yeah I know what you mean.

I was talking to a lad in the gym on Friday and was seriously considering just slimming right down to about 15 stone ultra lean.

I'm sat a 110kg at the min, heaviest I have ever been and with the weather getting warmer I'm really struggling in the gym and just doing routine tasks. Walking up hills is killing me etc!

I have never done cardio as a routine, also just feel if I lose some size and gain more fitness in long term will make me progress alot more, IMO I have had great development over 2 and half years, but flexibility and niggles hinder this so need work on complete package to get to the other side.

So weights, added cardio, better diet, stretching and deep tissue massage when I have money, thats the plan

As people say its a marathon not a sprint :)

Have you tried glucosamine mate? I have been using it for a while now and it definitely helps with joint pain. I take 2000mg per day along with 1000mg cod liver oil along with the EFA's already in my diet.

I have struggled a fair bit in the past with elbow and knee niggles but this combo seems to be helping out a lot.

Yeah I will start that 2moro along with 12g omega 3, less sugar as its cause inflammation, but most joints hurt due to negilgence on stretching IMO
