Freakazoid answered.
TBH, things like protein pancakes, or protein anything other than shakes, are full of crap. Sugars that supposedly aren't etc. And it is a diet, it is supposed to be challenging. Stick to it and power through.

Cheers simonboyle but she can't physically do it if she's chucking the food up she needs some kind of substitute otherwise she isn't following it.

I thought about pancakes 2.1g sugar per day for her and 5.9g carbs. She's not competing just trying to shift fat. Is it going to be critical?

What about a substitute instead of the isolate?

Halloumi
Chicken

Why not more of the same that she can handle, as in, what is she finding easy to consume just now.
If it is a pre prepared protein pancake mix i would avoid, also, she may not like it either.

Yes pre prepared by my protein just add water. Has 5.9g carbs and 2.1 comes from sugars.

Chicken and steak are fine for her. She likes halloumi but saturated fat and calorie contents quite high.

I'd be more inclined to make real food substitutions.

Stay away from sugars it will spike insulin and knock you out of keto. Add lean protein sources like chicken, fish, turkey, or really lean beef, to make up the protein that you will be losing if you drop out protein shakes. The protein shakes are only to make it easier, and more convenient, if you can get more real food all the better.
What kind of protein powder is she using, clean whey isolate in plenty of water shouldn't really cause a problem at all.

Cheers dude she's using impact whey isolate from my protein like 0.16g carbs per 25.

Tried a tonne of flavours just a no go with every single one.

In that case just take more lean protein food sources instead of the shakes, like a chicken fillet etc Approx 20/25g protein per fillet, depending on size.

Hi Freakzoid and Papa,
New to this forum here.
I have started doing the Dave Palumbo Keto Diet and
have one question to ask. I LOVE basketball and play
every day- I know that this is going to limit the amount
of muscle I can have but I was wondering what your
thoughts on C4 Preworkout is. It really helps with my pumps
although it does contain carbs.

Going to start on this diet next week (ive done 16weeks of it 3 years ago)
I'm weighing in at 189lbs at the end of the day (Not a lifter) and i'm at 20-25%(est) BF
Which diet should i start with..the 200lbs or 170lbs?
In the diet for 170lbs it says to have 200g top sirloin steak..this will be out of my budget, would i be able to use Salmon instead like it suggests in other weight ranges(ie 200?)
Ive worked out with salmon im going to be spending around £200...with steak...id be adding another £70-100

I think those people that are using it have a good foundation of it now, so don't come into the thread.

It was my most successful diet to use and did well with it last year.  The hard bit is coming off it and going back to a normal balanced diet.

Two weeks in had my 1st cheat meal last night.  Struggled with cravings today so i bought my self a bottle of sprite zero to try and curb my cravings...
I lost 10lbs in the 1st two weeks, put 2lbs back on from my cheat meal..hoping to shift 6-7lbs in the next two weeks.
Didn't do any cardio in the 1st two weeks but started today with 2x 40 min on exersise bike.

For what it's worth (albeit several weeks too late) I'd suggest, trying the 200lb diet and seeing how you get on.

Re the steak, any decent quality mince would  do (I aim for the 12-15% fat stuff). A lot more budget friendly than sirloin or salmon!

Any steak is fine mate -- the think slices of beef (frying steak) is quick and easy.

Yeah this was my most successful diet I've ever done. This time though I'm leaner to start with and finding things that little bit more difficult to lose. Currently 12-13% bf at most, 91kg -- so will do the 180lber i think

has anyone else had this issue when getting really low fat

Stats:

Bench: 165Kg 1RM
Squat: 190Kg 1RM
Deadlift: 220kg 1RM

A serious bodybuilding mate of mine has just paid Dave a pretty penny for a custom plan. Dave really knows his stuff.

How do you work out how much fat and protein you should have on keto ? Can you do heavy high intense weight lifting on the diet ?
