Deadlift PB!

Hey guys!

I hit my deadlift PB today! It was 120kg, which is probably nothing for some on here, but its a PB nonetheless!
For weeks I have been stuck on 100kg, and today a pretty big Eastern European guy was just giving me advice on my deadlift and he seems quite knowledgable and friendly. I told him the main problem I have is that the bar just slips from my hands at 100kg. He said I should use wraps, showed me how to wrap them around the bar properly and suggested I go upto 120kg.. and to my suprise I got two sets out at the weight, only 4 reps at a time though.

I was foooked after only the deadlifting! Really felt it, the wraps helped immensely and hopefully the weight goes up slowly but surely from here on in! I'm cutting at the moment too, so PB's feel even better right now!

    Good stuff!

Wraps can help but explore options that still mean you're doing the work with regards to holding the bar. A few options

Mixed grip (one plam away one towards - this counters the roll of the bar) with
Chalk, either original or liquid, or
Grip matting - like you buy for the dashboard of a car. Cut into 4x3" rectangles and it really, really helps grip

good stuff, doesnt matter if it seems more than others, i deadlift 100 (thats not 1rm but for 3x8) and thats pretty low compared to many others, but if its helping you then dont worry what others can lift.

Well done on the PB anyway.
