Deadlift questions

Can some one help with the following questions

About 6 months ago I stopped using lifting straps when I deadlift, since then I always tear large chunks of skin off my fingers while deadlifting. Is there a good way to stop this happening?

Also what is the best way to increase grip strength?, as this is beginning to limit the amount I can deadlift

Falmers walks helps greatly with grip, also try pinching and holding plates. I have just started this with 15kg plates, try and set yourself timed holds. I wear 3/4 gloves.

Yes cut the build-up or meat will roll off :((...or use a nail file to keep them under control.

Thanks for all the info. I think I will try pinch gripping to see if that helps.
